C h u r c h L i f e U p d a t e s Baby Announcement: Congratulations to Pastor Cal Aheizer and wife Elizabeth (our partners in Copper Bank, Belize) on the arrival of a baby boy, Ezer, on October 23. Please pray for this family. Lord s Supper: Today we will celebrate the Lord s Supper. Please note that the bread we use for Lord s Supper is gluten-free. Special Offering: Today we are receiving a special offering for our Benevolence Fund. However, since our Benevolence Fund has been well-supplied by your generosity and since we ve had a number of significant repair needs around the church in recent months we will receive a special offering for our Building Fund instead. If you d like to participate in this offering and help us maintain our church home, please mark your gift Building Fund. Soup Ministry: Women in Mission will make soup for delivery to the homebound at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, October 31 in the fellowship hall. They are in need of rims for mason jars. Please leave them in the brown kitchen. If you would like to help, please contact Donna Keck. JOY Luncheon: The JOY group will gather for lunch at Cracker Barrel on Wednesday, November 1 at noon. Please join us there! With One Voice: Calvary Sanctuary Choir will participate in a combined church choir concert on Sunday, November 5 at First Baptist Church of Mount Airy at 6:30 p.m. Local churches from several denominations will come together to worship and celebrate Christ's love together. This is a free event. Rehearsal Time Change: Please note that on Sunday, November 12, the handbells and the kids Christmas musical rehearsals will both meet at 5 p.m. instead of 6 p.m. Box Tops for Education: The BYW is collecting Box Tops for Education and Labels for Education to be taken to Cedar Ridge School. This school was chosen because it is in a less-populated area and, therefore, often receives less community support. Just drop your Box Tops and Labels in the box on the table between the sanctuary and classroom area. Thank you for helping our children! Wednesday Snack Supper: This Wednesday, B.Y.W. will serve crock pot soup at 5:45 p.m. Classes for all ages begin at 6:15 p.m. We will continue our study from the movie, The Case for Christ. Operation Christmas Child: If you would like to support Operation Christmas Child this year, please contact Bannertown Baptist Church to pick up empty boxes or deliver filled boxes. They will be collected at Bannertown Baptist on November 13-19.
