It is also true that a small episode of life become a great lesson of life. Due to this fact this story become a game of hide and seek to the writer for about 20 years. i) The writer was a college student. He was 21 years old. ii) There was a fashion to make pen pal. So, he wished to make a pen pal. iii) He choosed address of girl named Alice H., who live in California from Bombay magazine. iv) The classmate girl inspired him to buy an expensive letter pad which was pink in colour. v) When he wrote first letter to his pen pal. He felt nervous as if a child were giving the exam first time. vi) When he receive the reply of his pen pal. He felt himself at the seventh sky. vii) The writer was shy of nature so having the feeling of romance. He could not express it in words. Any how he wanted to know her age but out of shyness he could not ask her age. So he requested her to send her a photo graph to serve his purpose but at that time Alice has no photo so she promised him it would be sent later. The correspondence with Alice become irregular but not stopped the writer had a wife and two children. One day he receive a larger packet. Over which there was new hand writing. When he opened it he found some magazine and a photograph and a small letter in which it was informed that Alice was died in an car accident at that time she was 78 years old when he saw the photograph the writer think that she would be very lovely and beautiful when she was young. reality. ON HIS BLINDNESS Composed by- Sir John Milton John Milton had been the greatest poet of his age. He had been contemporary (समक ल न) of Shakespeare. He took M.A. Degree from Cambridge university. He devoted his life to the studies of modern language, lit, music and classicism. He had been a man of firm determination and disciplined. He wrote some famous looks in which some are master pieces as paradise lost, paradise regained. EXPLANATION: HINTS- WHICH I more bent. REFERENCE- These beautiful heart touching lines have been taken from the poem on his blindness composed by Sir John Milton. CONTEXT- In this poem the poet has painted out that he has become blind before the half days of his life so he complains to god over his own blindness. Word meaning- Era- before Era half my days- before the half days of his life In this dark world wide- the entire world has become dark for him Lodged- remained Lodged with me useless- he did not use his talent Though my soul more bent- although his soul had been always ready. EXPLANATION- In these lines the poet has expressed his mental agony (पर श न ) over his own blindness, he says to himself how he has become blind before the half days of his life and entire whole world has become dark for him. The talent which was given to him was not used by him while to hide the talent is like death. He did not use his talent though his soul had been ready to serve god.

Word meaning- Mummer- Bear his mild yoke- to follow the natural law CONTEXT- The poet has become blind before the half days of his life so the whole world has become dark for him. He blames himself that he has become blind because he did not use talent properly. EXPLANATION- The poet replied through mummering that neither god went to service of the man nor he want to return his own gift. He concludes by saying that those people who follows the natural law do the best service of god. It means the best service of god is to honesty, truthfulness, dutiful.

Word meaning- State- world Post- Bidding speed- Land- CONTEXT- The poet expresses firm faith in god by saying that those people who follow the natural law, do the best service of god. EXPLANATION- In this stanza the poet said about the world which is the kingdom of him where thousand creature post over land and ocean without any rest for the service of god. They also serve him who simply stand and wait for his service. NOTE- God is supreem and his will is also supreem. In this stanza poet inspires us man must has consolation for that state of life in which he has been placed by all might.

THE LIGHT OF ASIA -Sir Edwin Arnold About the poet- Sir Edwin Arnold was born on June 10, 1832. He was educated at king s college, London and university college oxford, later on he did his M.A. in 1856. In his student life, he showed great love for poetry. His great poem dealing, with the East. The Light of Asia undoubtedly occupies the highest place. The poem was published in 1879. About the poem- Sir Edwin Arnold wrote eight books about the life and works of Lord Buddha. In the first two books, there is the early life of Buddha. His father, Suddhodana was a king of the Sakayas. His capital was Kapilvastu. The priests had told the king that the prince would either be a great king or a great saint. The king was afraid that his son would leave his house and the kingdom one day. So he married him to a beautiful princess. The best comforts were provided in the palace to the prince. But the prince soon, bored to the life of leisure. When he came out to the city along with his wise charioteer, channa, he felt the sufferings of life. Then, for the good of mankind, he decided to leave his kingdom. LONG ANSWER- Ques- Describe the massage of god? Ans- INTRODUCTION- Although the prince was living in the pleasure house but he was not happy at all because he saw sad picture through the music veena. Gods sent the following massage that he should come out of the palace to deliver the suffering people of the world. God sent the following massage- 1- God s told in their massage that people of the world were wonder like the wind. They did not find rest in the world. There was nothing in their life. There was only storm, a moon, a sobs. 2- God told the prince that people of the world do not know the reality of life. They did not know where life comes and where it goes. There was nothing in their life except sorrow. They were weeping bitterly and rubbing their hands in sorrow. 3- God further explained prince that they do not know the importance of life. Go, and tell them life is temporary and moving like the water of the rivers. There was nothing in their life. Life is nothing, life is walking shadow. 4- God requested the prince to save the people of the world. He should not live in the palace. He should come out of the palace. He must wonder and see how the people suffer? Conclusion- In the end gods told prince giving a kind of wondering that he was for away from the reality of life. Thus, it was sincere call of god for the prince to help the people of the world. Ques- Describe the city of kapilvastu as it looked like on the prince s first visit? Ans- Introduction: After hearing this massage of god prince is restless. His maid Chitra tells him about the stories of fairies, magic land and great warriors. In this way prince came to know that there are carores and carores people in the world so he wish to visit the city. Then, king suddhodana orders the servants that no evils sight should come before the prince. The whole city should be decorated in such a way that it seems like a enchanched land. Decoration of the city- According to the order of the king all road were swept. The water was sprinkled on the streets. The red powder was scattered on the
door s of the houses. Tulsi bushs were put before the doors. The walls of the houses were painted. All temples were decorated the picture of a great gods were hung on the crossing in spite of grand decoration the curriers were crying that no sick man, old man, and dead body should come before the prince. Conclusion- In this way the whole city should be decorated like a newly bride. When the prince passes through the city it likes him. How beautiful rain. Every thing is attractive all people were running before behind the chariot. They were throwing flowers and garland towards the Prince and they were calling him JAI, JAI, JAI, for their Nobel Prince. Ques- Describe the seven vision king Siddhartha dream? Ans- The king saw a dream there were seven vision that trouble him. A flag- First of all the king saw a flag. It was very lenthy and splendid. A golden sun was shining on it. Suddenly the strong wind the flag was turn from here and there and mixed in to dust. Ten Elephant- In the second vision the king saw ten huge elephant their teeth were as white as snow. They were marching on the sourthen road and the earth began to move when they walked. The prince was sitting on the leading elephant. A chariot- In the third vision the king saw a chariot which was drawn by four fearful horses. They were throwing smoke from their nose and fiery foam was coming out from their mouth prince. Was sitting in the chariot. A wheel- In the fourth vision the king saw a wheel which was made of jewels. It was moving very fast when the wheel moved it shown like the fire ball and it also produce music when it moved. A drum- In the fifth vision the king saw a drum. It was very big and put between the city and hills. The prince was beating it with and iron red. It was sound like thunder it was resounded in the sky it could be heared for away from the palace. A Tower- In the sixth vision the king saw a town it was very high. It seems that it is touching the clouds. The prince stood on its top and scattering jewel in very dircection. The people were collecting them when they fell. Six Men- In the seventh vision the king here the lament of six men. He saw six men were weeping. They were kept their hands in their mouth. These were the seven vision of the dreams which disturbed the king very much.

A Wheel- In the fourth vision the king saw a wheel. The hermit said that wheel of perfect law. The prince would turn this wheel. Thus he would save humanity from sorrow. A drum- In the fifth vision the king saw a drum was beaten by prince with the iron rod. The hermit said the prince would teach his principles in a land voice. A tower- In the sixth vision the king saw a tower. The hermit said his principles will grow like the tower the prince would teach the most valuable lessons of the perfect law and the peoples would be gain profit by his teaching. The Six Men- In the seventh vision the king saw the six men who were lament. The hermit said that the prince would be show them his sallies thus, these six men would be the six disciple of the prince will become a teacher. In the end the hermit told the king that all of it would happen in seven days and night. The prince would be greater than king. He would be a great hermit. Ques- Who is channa? Discuss his role and importance in the poem? Ans- INTRODUCTION- Channa was a charioteer of prince Siddhartha. He was also a close friend of the prince. He was his guide and philosopher too. Where ever the prince goes with him. We always find him with the prince.
AS AN OBEDIENT SERVENT- Channa is an obedient servent of the king as well as prince. According to the order of the king. He goes with the prince in the city two time on the first visit. He went with the prince as his charioteer. Every time he obeyed him and fulfilled his duty sincerely. He obeys him and give all the answer of the question of the prince. Whenever the prince asks him to return to the palace. He obeys him willingly. AS A PHILOSOPHER AND GUIDE- He is very intelligent and knows the reality of life very well. The prince asks him lots of question about sickness, old age, death, life and this world. Channa answer all the questions very wisely and properly. Thus, the prince with satisfied with him. He has knowledge of human suffering. Channa never misguide the prince. There for the prince also regards him most. IMPORTANCE OF HIS ROLE-The role of channa in the poem is very important. He was the eye of the prince. He guide the prince very honestly. Know other men could done so it means channa is better than any other men for the service of prince. He said to the prince, man lives in fear. Diseases attack a man suddenly like a cunning snake everyone will be old man is mortal. Channa is the most important character of this epic. CONCLUSION- Thus, we can see that it was channa who gave the correct information to the prince about the problem of life. He played the part of a preacher. Ques- Character sketch of Siddhartha? Ans-INTRODUCTION- King Siddhartha was the prince of kapilvastu. He was a mighty king. He had a son named Siddhartha. He was the prince of kapilvastu. The quality of his character are given below. He has a great respect for hermit. He sents gifts to the hermit. As a father he his loving father. He has provided the best comfort in the prince palace. The tires to hide the pains of human life from prince. He ordered his servent no evil sight should come before the prince. He always worried about the prince. His weakness when he sees a dream he fees that some misfortunes is coming to his house. He is very anxious to know the meaning of the dream. He gets some rest when the hermit tells him that what he saw were joys and fear.
