Inside Faith Congregational MONTHLY NEWSLETTER OF FAITH CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH DECEMBER 2017 About Faith Church's new Choir Director and Pianist Hazel Graham Hazel Graham began her Music Studies in her native country of Trinidad and Tobago. She pursued further studies in Voice Performance in Canada at the University of Guelph and Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. She continued her studies at the graduate level here in the United States at Washington State University and Boston University. Until recently Mrs. Graham had the honor of teaching Voice for a 12 year period at Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, Florida. Her more than 30-year career in Vocal Performance, Instruction and Choral Directing has played itself out in the Caribbean, Canada and here in the United States of America. Mrs. Graham currently serves as Minister of Music at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Port St Lucie as well as the Fort Pierce S.D.A. Church. She is the founder and director of VOICES Chorus located in Port St Lucie, Florida. We are so fortunate to have Hazel join us at Faith Church. We are grateful that God has brought us together, and we look forward to lots of joyful music and singing together! Pastor s Pen The Christmas season is nigh! Advent begins this Sunday. We start our countdown to Christmas, and our anticipation jumps into high gear. There are so many things to look forward to in December: The Pancake Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 2 from 8-10:30 AM. Come sit on Santa s lap, eat lots of pancakes, and it s all for a good cause!!! To support the WPSL Christmas Kids. (Tickets $5 adults, $3 kids...bring a friend!) Sisters in Faith Christmas Luncheon on Saturday, December 9 at 11:30 AM. Great fellowship and a hilarious (sometimes knock-down-drag-out) gift exchange. Bring a $10 gift and sign up at church. Faith Kidz Christmas during our Sunday Worship Service on December 10. The Savior s Story with Christmas costumes and music. What a joy! VOICES Chorus with Hazel Graham and Friends on Sunday, December 17, at 4 PM. A community event hosted at Faith Congregational Church. Come to enjoy some top-notch Christmas music! Tickets $20 adults, Children are free. Faith Choir Christmas. Christmas is all about music. We ll all enjoy Christmas music from our choir, congregation, and other voices at our Sunday Worship Service on December 17. Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 7 PM. This year Christmas Eve is on a Sunday. We will have our regular Worship Service at 9 AM, and celebrate the birth of our Lord that evening. Every year, we have the opportunity to celebrate all that Christmas has to offer. We also have a chance to reflect on all that it means for God to come among us as a baby in a manger. The incarnation is a mystery that fuels our faith and deepens our relationship with God. I hope that this Christmas will be very special for all of us.
