May 5, 2018, 6 pm You are cordially invited to the 16th biennial Service with a Smile A Cinco de Mayo Event! Get out your serapes, Mexican hats and piñatas. The cost is $5.00 for tickets purchased in advance or $6.00 at the door. We will start with Mexican themed hot and cold hors d' oeuvres, margarita mocktails and time to preview our wonderful auction items. Our highly skilled auctioneers will start the auction, promptly at 6:45pm. We will take a break at 8:00 pm for special desserts, coffee, tea and Mexican hot chocolate. Christian Education News We miss you! Remember : Sunday School is for all ages! Adult Class with Don Crouser: 9:00 9:45AM. Youth Classes with Lorraine Creedon and Linda Thorn: 9:00 AM 9:45AM. Youth will be brought to the Sanctuary to sit with their families. All are welcome! In the youth classes, we are continuing to dig into the life of Jesus. We are working with the second quarter now. And there is not a requirement to know the first quarter material. The lessons focus on a scripture teaching us about our Lord. Upcoming lessons include: Lesson 9: Jesus Calms the Storm Lesson 10: Jesus Heals a Bleeding Woman Lesson 11: Jesus Walks On Water Lesson 12: Jesus is Transfigured Each lesson is tailored for the way that our youth learn. The lessons include opening, core bible (scripture), crafts, games, object lesson, music, and deeper bible (older youth). We get to choose a format. We get to select the grades or age levels. Ask our youngest disciples what they learned in Sunday school this week. Come and join us as we learn about Jesus. Our adult Sunday school is reviewing The Harbinger: The Ancient Mystery that Holds the Secret of America's Future, authored by Jonathan Cahn. The nation of Israel chose to ignore the warnings that were expressed by the prophet in the book of Isaiah. Are we ignoring similar warnings for our people? Starting soon: Fear of the Other by William Willimon. SUMMER is coming! And that means VBS time! Are you available???? VBS 2018 Rolling River Rampage JULY 23-27, 2018 Mornings Just come and be a part of this message of hope. Share your gifts at our church with our youngest disciples. Go forth into the community with our young disciples and their mentors. We need your help! See Linda Thorn to discuss your participation and to meet our friend Romper the River Otter. This is the list of names we have been praying for. We encourage you to keep them in your daily prayers. If you don t know the person, and aren t sure what to pray for regarding them, here are some suggestions that will get you started: 1. Pray for their physical health and well-being. 2. Pray for their relationship with God. 3. Ask that they be encouraged through their prayer life. 4. Ask that they be effective witnesses for Jesus today whether they are at work, home, school or play.
