Zion Lutheran Church and School Welcome to Zion! We re excited to have you with us worshiping our Lord together! It s our prayer that you experience the love of Jesus in a deep and meaningful way. Word and Sacrament In an effort to provide congregational fellowship prior to Lent services, as well as an opportunity for youth to serve and allow them time to attend service, the youth group will still be preparing and providing food on Wednesdays during Lent. However, instead of a full meal, we will offer appetizers, snacks and desserts, as well as iced tea and water. This Wednesday s menu is Nacho bar, veggies and ranch dip, chips and dip and a variety of desserts. We are still collecting a free will donation each night to help defray costs to our youth for the 2019 National Youth Gathering. Thank you for your continued and unwavering support! The Rock Opera: The Leadership Team would like to know if there is any interest in bringing the Christian rock duo Lost and Found to Zion. Members of Zion may be familiar with Lost and Found as they routinely perform at the LCMS Youth Gathering. At the end of October, Lost and Found will be performing at a Lutheran church in St. Charles, MO, and the musicians have reached out to Zion to see if we might want to host a concert around that time frame. The cost is approximately $4,000, and funds would have to be raised by members who want to organize the event (ticket sales, sponsorships, etc.). If you are interested in organizing this event, please let Pastor Kale know, and he can give you the information that we have so far received. It s not too early to think about the Passion Play in 2020. Pastor Meyer and Pastor Mark have planned a trip to Israel then on to Germany for the Passion Play at Oberammergau. The dates and the trip are September 8-18, 2020, and the cost is $5099. In 2010, we were blessed with about 45 Zion members on that trip and we expect this trip to fill up quickly because of the combination of Israel and the Passion Play. This will be a trip to remember. The deadline for a $250 registration discount on the Croatia trip this coming October is March 30. Please contact either Pastor Mark or Pastor Willy if you are interested in this unique tour that highlights coastal scenery on the Adriatic Sea as well as ancient cities and medieval architecture.
