Review Why We are Created The Will of God Created to be Kings and Priests Privilege Lost Privilege Restored
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light
Our existence has no meaning when taken out of context of fulfilling the desires of our Creator We then evaluate ourselves: Are we pleasing Him? Are we meeting His expectations? Are we fulfilling our purpose?
The key thought: We are called to be KINGS and PRIESTS We are royalty and we are in touch with service to God and others
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (Revelation 4:11)
True discipleship is therefore active adherence to Bible teachings, principles and lifestyle. We are true disciples when we apply what we know in everyday life. Discipleship is ultimately the work of God done through the Holy Ghost and through our faithful submission to God s will.
So what is God s will? We have to find that out in order to be able to perform it and do it. We therefore go on a journey in the Bible in an attempt to discover the will of God.
They started in Egypt They crossed over the cloud and the sea. This is a type of water and spirit (I Cor. 10:1-4) However, they didn t all enter Many died in the wilderness
Wandering Survival only Menial existence Trial-to-trial Passing through Not taking ground
This is really described by considering two mentalities: God is here to serve me (Wilderness) I am here to serve God (Promised Land) What is our mindset really? Jesus is our ultimate example He did the will of God. (John 4:34, 6:38). It was His meat His life. So What is God s will?
1. Presenting our bodies a living sacrifice as in alive to God but dead to desires of self/flesh (Galatians 2:20) 2. Refusing to be conformed to this world. Conformed means to be pressed into the world s mold and fashion. 3. Being transformed by the renewing of our mind. This is one of the great challenges of our time (Titus 3:4-6).
Explicitly declared in the Scripture (I Thess 4:3) God s plan from the beginning (II Thess 2:13) Includes Abstaining from the very appearance of evil (I Thess 5:22). Love without dissimulation, abhorring evil, cleaving to that which is good Romans 12:9

1. Proving and Discerning 2. Being Sanctified 3. Walking in Holiness 4. Giving Thanks 5. Ultimately, not conforming to this world but being transformed and in tune with the next world. This is the will of God explicitly and corporately, and really, the stepping stone to discovering the will of God individually. Pslam 37:1-8 This is what we are looking for. This is our source of PURPOSE.
When we discover what we are to do, we find our purpose. Love the Lord completely: Worship and Obedience Love your neighbor as yourself: Ministry and Care Go and make disciples: Baptizing them: Teaching them: Evangelism Church Growth/Fellowship Discipleship All of these purposes are selfless, and leave the individual less more interested in operating in a realm that transcends the natural human nature.
