PA R T 1 Believe The Impossible GENESIS 12:1-8 Abraham s Journey GENESIS 12:1-8 Abraham s Journey GENESIS 12:1-8 Abraham s Journey 1The LORD said to Abram, Leave your country, your people and your father s household and go to the land I will show you. 2I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you. 4So Abram left, as the LORD had told him he was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran. 5He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canaan, and they arrived there. 6Abram traveled through the land as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh at Shechem. At that time the Canaanites were in the land. 7The LORD appeared to Abram and said, To your offspring I will give this land. So he built an altar there to the LORD, who had appeared to him. 8From there he went on toward the hills east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the LORD and called on the name of the LORD.

1 You ve got to leave the old country MY ADDICTION TO COMFORT To set sail for new faith-horizons, I must untether from the dock of risk-free faith. 2 You ve got to leave the old relationships I must restrict the access of people who distract and discourage me from steps of faith and increase the influence of people of like-minded faith. A breakthrough to the new land of faith-producing impact requires a break with the old faith-killing influences. 3 You ve got to leave the old house God commands us to leave because we cannot go to our Promised Land and stay in the land of Ur at the same time.
Risky belief will always be God s ordained path to radical blessing! THE PROMISE I ll make you into a great nation and I ll bless you; I ll make your name great and you ll be a blessing. I ll bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I ll curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you. GENESIS 12:2-3 GOD S PROMISE YOUR VISION 1 The promise is for success I will make you into a great nation. Biblical Success: divine power, kingdom authority, an enlarged faith-capacity, an abundant life of joy in the Holy Spirit and even material blessing.
GOD S PROMISE YOUR VISION 2 The promise is for significance I will make your name great. Divine Significance: using my godly influence to attract people to my God. GOD S PROMISE YOUR VISION 3 The promise is for satisfaction I will make you into a great nation. Biblical Satisfaction: the joy of being used as a conduit of divine blessing to others.
PRESS INTO THE VISION Analyze what do I need to leave in order to go where God wants me to go? Personalize I will read Abraham s story and place myself in his shoes. Visualize I will look at the stars and let God remind me of his plans for great things in my life. Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples saying, This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.! In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, gave thanks, and said, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you. For I tell you I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes. LU KE 22:1 7-20
