President s Message And Jesus came and said to them, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew: 28:18-20 ESV Greeting Brothers and Sisters: I take this opportunity to officially welcome you and all of our guest to the Breeze Island of Nassau, Bahamas. We welcome Bishop Adam J. Richardson, Jr., and Supervisor Connie S. Richardson to the 70th Episcopal Convention of the Eleventh Episcopal District Lay Organization. We thank God for their leadership and commitment to the organization thereby making this convention a success. I am extremely proud of the wonderful people of the Bahamas Conference for their time and dedication. They have worked endlessly to make our stay a pleasant stay and to make their island assessable for our enjoyment. I thank God for the opportunity to serve as your Episcopal Lay President and thank you for your support and encouragement. The following objectives can best be met when one works to understand the Program of the church and relate the church to the World around us. The main objectives are stated in brief as follows: 1. To create a love and appreciation of the History and Principles of African Methodism. 2. Keep the memory of Richard Allen alive. 3. Respect Constituted Authority. 4. Stimulate and Educate the Laity in the Total Program of the Church. 5. Study the Discipline and learn the laws of the Church. 6. Encourage Financial Support of the Church's Program. 7. Teach and Practice Stewardship and work with the Youth to teach them Methodism. Charlie Nichols

Welcome to the Bahamas Conference! My Beloved Brothers and Sisters I want to take this time to extend a very warm welcome to all of you, especially if this is your first time gracing the shores of our beautiful Bahama land, welcome to the sunny isle of the Bahamas. We re delighted to have you here. We welcome Bishop Adam J. Richardson, Jr., and Supervisor Connie S. Richardson, Episcopal Lay President Charlie Nichols and the Eleventh District Lay Officers to the 70th Annual Episcopal District Lay Organization Convention. As we gather here in the Bahamas to do the business of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, let us remember that we are called to be witnesses and ambassadors for the kingdom of God. We have come here to be instructed and inspired. Many messages, covering a variety of topics, will be given during the next few days. These men and women who will speak to you have sought heaven s help concerning the messages they will give. It is my prayer that as Pastors and Laity, we would be filled with the Spirit of the Lord as we listen and learn in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, that our faith will be fortified and our testimonies deepened so that we can find strength in each other to stand strong amid the fiery darts of the evil one in these last days. May God bless you and enjoy your stay while in the Bahamas. Brian Brown Conference Lay President
