PRAYERS & BLESSINGS Foreword This wonderful book brings back good memories of what it was like to be in class with Yogi Bhajan. At the end of every class, right after singing the Sunshine Song, Yogi Bhajan would give an inspirational blessing and prayer. It was the prelude to the heart-centered bow to one s own higher self, that was done at the end of every Kundalini Yoga class. The blessing itself was the culmination and elevated conclusion of what he taught. Sometimes it summedup some of the themes of the class. Sometimes those powerful words brought in a new element or perspective to those themes. I always looked forward to the closing prayer as a way to integrate the experience of the class. The best way that I can describe these blessings is that they were perfect for that very moment in time. It was like a seal on the experience of Yogiji s lecture and the kriya that he taught that day. It has always been valuable to me to remember them and reflect on them. vi
Forward As teachers of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, we have continued the tradition of saying a prayer and blessing at the end of class. It is spoken from the heart and can be simple and spontaneous. On occasion, I will just read one of Yogi Bhajan s blessings to the class. If you are a teacher, this book provides a wealth of blessings organized in topics that you can match to your class. They are truly a source of support and inspiration for anyone at any time. With prayers and blessings, Nirvair Singh Khalsa August 2017 vii
Bountiful Blessings
PRAYERS & BLESSINGS April 20 th, 1982 May God bless you and brighten your day and brighten your night and brighten your life, because in darkness we find nothing. Though all things are there, to the unacknowledged mind there is no happiness. So may we pray that God must provide us with peace and tranquility, and protect us and provide for us on the road and path of our commitment so that we can be healthy, happy and holy. May our health be beautiful, may our happiness be eternal, may we know and merge in the holy divine identity of God. Please pray that all who need to be healthy, happy and holy may be blessed by His divine grace. And please pray, as the drums of war are around us whether we hear them or not let His divine Self forgive this world and let the peace prevail. Sat Nam. April 14 th, 1982 You are very generous, Oh God. There are many, many people in many, many ways, but we thank You for guiding us through Your grace and through Your protective hand. We are not the special ones but 10
Bountiful Blessings we are the humble ones. We seek Thy light and Thy guidance. Through Thy grace and through the power of prayer, may man live in peace and tranquility. As You have guided us now, guide us forever. May Thy hand protect us now and forever and may we dwell in Thy grace. Sat Nam. February 1 st, 1979 Blessed is my soul to have the human consciousness. Blessed is my soul to have the body born in the land of the free and the home of the prayer. Blessed is my soul to have brought me to the gate of the Guru to practice Dharma. Blessed is my soul to understand the law of Infinity. Sat Nam. November 15 th, 1983 May the blessing of the Guru become the song of God. May the heart be filled with the Word of the Guru. May the grace of the Guru lead us to the Infinity of wisdom and prosperity and health. Sat Nam. 11
PRAYERS & BLESSINGS February 25 th, 1982 Blessed is my God, blessed is the self, blessed is the realization of this union, and blessed are those who seek peace within and without. May the hand of God guide us, protect us and be with us all the time, and may we always seek the hand of God for protection and for guidance. May this day uplift our soul and consciousness, that we may realize peace forever and ever. Let us all pray that this planet Earth may be left in peace and harmony, and that the glory of God may prevail to save it from all disasters. May the breath of life give us health and happiness. Sat Nam. May 17 th, 1982 Bless us, God, with Thy virtues. Bring peace to the earth. Bring us into a state of kindness and courage, so that we can live righteously and in Thy grace. Make us healthy, happy, and holy and give us virtues, so we can pay our homage to Thee in exchange for this life. Sat Nam. 12
Bountiful Blessings June 19 th, 1976 Inhale and hold the breath and pray on this breath: Oh my breath of life, the gift of God when you leave me and join the universal breath, give the message of life and happiness of life to all. Let it go. Inhale deep and pray on this breath: Oh my breath of life, oh divinity of God which has come to me give happiness to all when you breathe the universal breath and roll on the universe. Let it go. And now inhale, inhale deep and hold this breath and pray on this breath: Oh my breath of universal infinity of consciousness you have come to me in love and guidance. When you leave me and join the universal breath, may all the living and non-living here and hereafter be happy. And let it go. July 28 th, 1994 Bless my soul. Bless my Self. Purify my mind and consciousness. Give me the ecstasy, beauty and bounty, blessing and bliss, so I may walk on my path so I may walk on my path as the pure Self within the self now and forever. Sat Nam. 13
PRAYERS & BLESSINGS January 31 st, 1988 A man shall experience bliss by the creative action of his own self. And complete within himself, he shall be the King of the kings of the kings of the kings. And God of the gods of the gods of the gods. And Divine of the divines of the divines of the divines. And that is a very simple scientific law. Macro and micro consciousness will all merge into one unison-ness of that and then the space will become absolutely creative. And the weightlessness will give the light and the bliss to those crossings which are called hurdles in the blue ethers of life. And when the person can cross into the fourth level and then in and out, he shall become freer to the extent that liberation will be experienced while alive. In the five Tattvas inbound by the bodies and by the Gunas and by the creative Chakras, a man will be elaborated in that liberty which he will enjoy and call Wahe Guru, God, Hallelujah, Shalom or whatever his Piscean sayings were. And thus in the Platinum Age, people shall be God and God shall be people. Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa, Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh! 14
