We are thrilled to be a part of this annual tradition. We join with the Hibernian's in celebrating Mt. Adams rich Irish history Blake Callahan, Assistant Organist at St. Peter in Chains Cathedral, and our organist for the Saturday afternoon Masses, will present the Annual Seiwert Organ Recital at St. Catharine of Siena Church, Westwood, February 25th at 3:00 p.m. Works by Bach, Mendelssohn, Franck, Dupre, and Widor will feature the Schantz/Buzard organ. The concert is free and open to the public.
OLY ROSS - MMACULATA OOD RIDAY OLUNTEER IGN-UP Plaza Greeters 6 Volunteers needed for each shift. Shifts: Midnight-3:00 a.m. 3:00-6:00 a.m. 6:00-9:00 a.m. 9:00-Noon Noon-3:00 p.m. 3:00-6:00 p.m. 6:00-9:00 p.m. 9:00-Midnight Once again this year, volunteer greeters will be based on the plaza at the top of the steps. We will have a tent for protection against the weather. The greeters will pass out prayer pamphlets and the votive candles. Greeters will also provide information to the pilgrims regarding locations for confessions, times of services in the church, restaurant locations, hospitality (donuts) and the Fish Fry. We will be adding more candle racks by the crucifix on the outside of the church, Visitors can place their candle outside or they can take the candle inside the church and place it on the communion rail. Church Candle Coordinators 4 Volunteers needed for each shift. Shifts: Midnight-3:00 a.m. 3:00-6:00 a.m. 6:00-9:00 a.m. 9:00-Noon Noon-3:00 p.m. 3:00-6:00 p.m. 6:00-9:00 p.m. 9:00-Midnight Volunteers will be needed again in the church to take the votive candles that are placed on the communion rail and move them to the candle racks in the sanctuary. These volunteers will also instruct visitors how to light their votive candles. The volunteer closest to the side entrance of the church will also point out to the visitors the small bottles of holy water that will be available. Donation box will be available by the candles and by the holy water so that the volunteers do not have to handle any money. Once again we are hoping to maintain a sacred silence in the church. Signs will be posted and volunteers will receive laminated instruction sheets to show to the visitors so that talking will not be necessary. Fish Fry Volunteers 6 Volunteers needed for each shift. Shifts: 2:30-5:30 p.m. 5:00-8:00 p.m. Linda Capannari has graciously agreed to coordinate the Fish Fry again this year. Volunteers will assist in serving the food and drinks, clearing and setting tables, and general cleanup. Set-Up Volunteers Tuesday, March 27, 6:00-8:30 p.m. 15 Volunteers needed! Volunteers are needed to move boxes, candle racks, tables & chairs and the supplies from the rectory, the garage and parish center and help set them up in the tent in the plaza and in the church. If we have 15 volunteers, the work will be finished much sooner. Please, please, please, if you are able to do the physical labor required this evening, we really need your help, we are looking for people under the age of 60 who have the strength and energy to get the work done! Take-Down Volunteers Saturday, March 31, 10:00 a.m.-noon 15 Volunteers needed! Volunteers are needed on Saturday morning to remove the candles and the candle racks from the church and remove all the tables from the church and the tents in the plaza area as well as removing all leftover box or pamphlets from the pews and help set things in place for our Easter services
