We would love for you to record your attendance on the Friendship Pad when it is passed to you and provide information so that we can contact you further. ENTER TO WORSHIP This is a holy hour. We invite you to enter this sanctuary with joy and reverence. We invite members and visitors to be seated near the front of the sanctuary to enhance our sense of community in worship. Please remember to silence your cell phone. RESOURCES FOR HEARING IMPAIRMENT Hearing assistance devices are available for those who have such need. Please see an usher for more information. He will be accompanied at the piano by Lisa Moxley, Music Associate/Accompanist at HBBC. If you cannot join us live, we hope that you will watch via livestream at hbbc.org/live. PARENTS NIGHT OUT: AUGUST 10 All children, ages three and up, are invited to join us for Parents Night Out on Friday, August 10 from 6:00-8:30. BBQ PROPER AT HBBC On Friday, August 10, and on each second Friday of the month, the BBQ Proper Food truck will be parked in the HBBC parking lot. They will offer their winter menu for walk-up orders, along with a pre-order takeout menu. 5% of their sales will be donated to HBBC. Find the pre-order menu and all of the details at www.hbbc.org/bbqproper. MEMBERSHIP MATTERS Have you recently joined HBBC or are you prayerfully considering becoming a member? Are you seeking more information about deepening your relationship with Christ? Do you desire more information about how to join the church or how to find a place of service? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you would be a perfect candidate for Membership Matters: a 5-week discussion group that deals with all of these issues. Susan Hailey, Betty Boyce and Nancy Graybeal serve as facilitators for the class. The class meets on Sunday mornings at 9:45 AM in Room 106, beginning September 9. Contact Scott Welborn in the church office (swelborn@hbbc.org) for details or to register. IT IS TIME TO REGISTER! CHURCHWIDE RETREAT SPACES ARE LIMITED! It s time to register for one of the best weekends of the year---the churchwide retreat! Your family is invited to join us October 12-14 at Caraway Conference Center for the churchwide retreat. If you love the Family Retreat or the Youth Fall Retreat, you don t want to miss this weekend! The retreat is for all ages and will provide opportunities for worship, Bible Study, small groups, recreation, and fellowship across generations. We are excited to welcome our retreat speaker, Rev. Jeff Allen, as we explore together what it means to be rooted in our faith. More information about the retreat and details about how to register can be found online at www.hbbc.org/rooted. The registration deadline is August 12, and space is limited. We hope to see your family there! SACRED RHYTHMS FALL GROUPS FORMING We are excited to invite you to participate in a Sacred Rhythms small group beginning this fall. This material focuses on spiritual formation in small groups. Groups will consist of 8-12 members who meet together weekly for seven weeks. Each session is an hour and a half long and involves learning, discussions, and experiencing a spiritual practice while being guided by a facilitator and DVD. Groups will be formed based on times, days and locations that work best for leaders and members, and groups are open to HBBC members and non-members alike. If you are interested in joining a group, email Kristen Muse (kmuse@hbbc.org), and we will connect you with a group in the month of August. EXTENDED SESSION VOLUNTEERS: YOU CAN HELP! Volunteers are needed to care for the youngest members of our church family during worship each week! Extended Session volunteers serve just six-seven Sundays/year during the worship hour, and there are still positions available with every age group (Infants-Kindergarten). This is such an important ministry in our church and a huge gift to our young families. If you would consider serving in this important ministry, please sign up at www.hbbc.org/ esvolunteers or email Sarah Mears at smears@hbbc.org! SCHOOL OF MUSIC REGISTRATION IS OPEN School of Music Fall Semester registration is open! The Hayes Barton Baptist Church School of Music provides quality music instruction in a Christian setting to the Triangle region.
