Moose Prints December 2014 Northglenn Moose Lodge 2166 & WOTM Chapter 644 303-457-3391 Mooseheart/Moosehaven Have you ever wondered what those two words mean? Are they just words you hear spoken around our Northglenn Moose Lodge, by the LOOM (Loyal Order of Moose) and the WOTM (Women of the Moose Chapter)? They are places to live, of course, for Children and Seniors. So, have you ever wondered what it would be like to live there? One of our WOTM members by the name of Mary Hess has been a member for almost 14 years. Her father, Robert A. Hess was so proud to have lived at Mooseheart and Mary said Bobbie loved living there! Robert was born on November 28, 1925 and arrived at Mooseheart in January 1930. He was a resident until he graduated from Mooseheart High School in 1944, at which time he joined the United States Navy. He served in the military until 1952. Bobbie was involved with many activities while at Mooseheart. He was inducted into the Mooseheart Hall of Fame and also played on the Mooseheart Football Team. Until Robert A. Hess passed away on August 8, 1991 at the age of 65, he and several classmates would go back to Mooseheart to attend the Annual High School Homecoming Events. I d like to thank Mary Hess for sharing this information with all of us. The Women of the Moose Cookbook is on sale, be sure to watch for one of Robert s favorite Shrimp Creole recipes! -Carol Bjorklund, Chapter 644 Robert Hess in the summer of 1930 Robert Hess Red Rock Ramblers Memorial Bench at Mooseheart Lake. Governor s Message Hello Fellow Moose, Wow Christmas time already! Where has the last year gone? I will start my letter off by sending out some congratulations to the monthly Dues Drawing winner and the winner of our Halloween Chili Cook Off. I would like to congratulate Ranee Wolfe for winning the Dues Drawing and to congratulate Carol Bjorklund for being the Chili Cook Off winner! For those of you who were unable to come to the Halloween party, you missed some great tasting chili s! Try your luck. Maybe you will be the next Dues winner. It only costs you a quarter per try. It only takes one ticket. I hope that you all had a great Thanksgiving feast with your loved ones. Unfortunately there were those that were less fortunate than the rest of us. The donations for the food baskets were greatly appreciated. There will also those that will be in need during Christmas so we will be making baskets for these families as well. Please keep those donations coming! I know that I am very truly thankful for the blessings that I have. I hope that all are healthy and well! Fraternally Yours, Brad Bushman Governor Congratulations! Ranee Wolfe won the November drawing for a free year of dues! Ricky Bogs Join us Friday Nights or any other night for the Moose Races. Buy a Moose $5, decorate it or put your name on it and race it! The bigger your bet the more you win! : WIN A FREE YEAR OF DUES! We are running a Monthly drawing to win a free year of dues. The cost is just.25 per ticket and we draw on the last day of the month.
