Bullinger shows thru numerical values, gematria, and other mathematical means that "the Bible has but one Author...carrying out His own infinite plans". He makes the mathematician love the scriptures and the religious love math. One of my favorite parts is when he is explaining Dr. Milo Mahan's work on the principle of number 8 and number 13, and he gets passionate with the validity of the Bible, as over and over he demonstrates with gematria that every single name of the Lord's people are multiples of 8 and every one who were His enemies, are multiples of 13. It is one of the only books of its genre that wasn't exclusively written for Jews. Don't miss reading the book along with the Bible. Some of the tidbits in this book are worth a king's
ransom, such as where 360 degrees came from, why there are 12 zodiac signs, why certain numbers are used in the Bible, etc. The book helps in making the Bible fun to read. I borrowed this book from a friend, and after reading it, I've decided to buy a copy for myself.i am always happy to find out about God's original purpose and meaning for things that Satan and the occultists have stolen, perverted, and used for their purposes- things that were meant to help us better understand God and His purposes, which, as it was presented in this book, did in fact do-i felt a whole new world open up for me and I'm not as "afraid" of how I see numerology used all over the world because I understand it better-from God's perspective. First of all this review is primarily about the Kindle edition of this book. I owned the hardcopy and enthusiastically recommend it. I would give it 5 stars.the Kindle edition, on the other hand, is terrible! I'm guessing that this ebook was simply run through a converter without even an attempt at formatting. The text is all jumbled, there are no links within the table of contents, and the Hebrew words are not rendered at all (Greek is rendered poorly). Tables and diagrams are destroyed beyond all recognition. Apparently, no human reviewed this before submitting it to. Subsequently, didn't bother to "look inside" either.if I read this in this format initially, I would not have fully appreciated the books content. Mr. Bullinger did considerable research into this book's content. I'm amazed that he was able to turn out a work of this quality years before the Strong's Exhaustive Concordance was published. It's a magnificent work that was sabotaged in this version!i was hoping to have a digital version as a reference work. However, the lack of links and cross-references eradicate any usefulness in this regard.stay away from this Kindle version. Even at.99, it's overpriced! Buy the book instead. I wish I had my.99 back! :-( This is not a book on numerology which is a false religion, this is exactly what the title says - this is a book about numbers in the scriptures. Anything that God creates can be perverted for an evil purpose, this is not what this book is about. This book shows the intelligent design of the Scriptures by showing the supernatural intelligent use of numbers in the Scriptures as well as in nature. If you want to read this book it won't take you much time. If you want to truly study this book, it could take you a year. Great book! Bullinger shows the magnificent orderliness of the Word of the Creator. The book shows how God (YHWH) uses numbers to symbolize various concepts. Each number is always used to show the
same concept throughout the entire 66 books. The number 7 is a good place to begin study as it is emphasized. Certain names and words are repeated 7 times throuhout the 66 books even though various men set down the words to paper. Only the Holy Spirit could have designed such order. No man nor computer could have produced such results. Bullinger gives many examples. He provides the original Greek and Hebrew texts in his examples. This book is incredible! What detail & foreknowledge is involved in the inspired word of God. If you think the Bible is a masterpiece now you will not be disappointed after reading "Number in Scripture." It brought home to me how little we actually conceptualize about the workings of God.Not only that, but it also helps with finding significance and greater meaning and understanding in scripture.i had not read up on this subject before & found it truly inspiring. Here is yet another great book by the insightful E.W. Bullinger.Number is Scripture is fascinating and shocking, as it shedslight on the hidden footprints of the Holy Spirit in the scripture. Readers learn about the significance of what previously seemed like meaningless numbers. Everything in the Bible has a meaning, numbers included.
