Obituary Order of Service Mr. Alvin Sylvester Bubee Williams Sr. A Devoted Husband, A Loving Father, A Kind Grandfather, A Beloved Brother, A Faithful Friend The Reverend Dr. Grady W. Powell Sr., Pastor-Emeritus, The Officiate And God shall wipe all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away REV 21:4 THE PROCESSIONAL Family Members & Friends On Thursday, March 27, 2008, during the early morning hours, God in His infinite wisdom saw fit to call our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend from life to eternal life, Mr. Alvin Sylvester Williams, Sr., lovingly referred to by all who loved him as Bubee. Bubee resided at 531 Petty Street (Berkley Manor), Petersburg, VA. He was born on February 8, 1947, to the late John Hugo Williams and Vernelle Jackson Williams in Petersburg, Va. He was also predeceased by his brother, Charles A. Williams. Bubee was educated in the Petersburg Public Schools System. At an early age he confessed Christ as his personal Savior. At the tender age of 16, he was employed with Petersburg General Hospital, (now known as Southside Regional Medical Center). There he received his formal training in the culinary arts and became an award winning head chef. After fulfilling 16 years of dedicated service to Southside Regional, he was then gainfully employed with PARK 500 (a division of Phillip Morris USA). After 25 years and 8 months of faithful service, he retired to spend quality time with his loving family. THE HYMN OF COMFORT Blessed Assurance The Combined Choirs THE SACRED WORD The Old Testament Psalm 23 Rev. Dru Roane, Associate Minister Gillfield Baptist Church The New Testament Revelations 21: 1-4 Rev. Dr. Grady W. Powell Sr. THE PRAYER OF COMFORT Rev. Dr. Grady W. Powell Sr. THE MINISTRY IN SONG Solo Ms. Paula Green In 1965, Bubee was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Celestine Jackson. This union was blessed with four loving children, Angela Ramona, Alvin Sylvester Jr., Bridgette Yvette, and Charles Elton. THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF CONDOLENCES Rev. Dru Roane On April 14, 1990, he was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Vanessa Jones. God blessed this loving union with two children, Kevin Jacoba and Alicia Nicole. THE SILENT READING OF THE OBITUARY Bubee was a loving, caring, devoted, and special blessing to his entire family and to his community. His kind, jovial, and sincere demeanor will be a cherished legacy for all who knew him. His children were the apple of his eye, as he showered them with sincere love, profound wisdom, and a determination to always strive to do your very best in life. His home was a haven of love to everyone who entered the doors. As a loyal fisherman, he found joy in securing his boat on the beautiful waters to catch an abundance of fish and later share them with his family and friends. We Thank God for blessing us with his presence in our lives and we trust that though he is now absent from his physical body, his soul is truly present with the Lord! THE MINISTRY IN SONG Solo Mr. H. Bertram Boisseau THE EULOGY Rev. Dr. Grady W. Powell Sr. THE RECESSIONAL When We All Get To Heaven The Combined Choirs Bubee s cherished memory will forever be perpetuated by his loving and devoted wife, Vanessa J.
