Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church As a parish of the Catholic Diocese of Charleston, Our Lady of Grace seeks to know and share God s Word, live as a community of Christian disciples, devoutly celebrate the Holy and other sacraments, provide a prayerful environment for all people, and serve the poor and those in need in Christ s Name. From Father Kirby Today, the Lord asks the apostles, Who do you say that I am? It s a strong question, and one that demands an answer from every believer. In reflecting on the question, I m reminded of a portion of a letter Mother Teresa once wrote to her Sisters: I worry that some of you still have not really met Jesus. You and him alone. Jesus wants me to tell you again, how much is the love he has for each of you. If Mother could pose such a challenge to her sisters, professed Religious of our Church, how much more should we pose that same challenge to ourselves. Have we really met Jesus? Do we respond from the depths of our soul You are the Christ, the Son of the living God! and do we live by this declaration? Installation of the reredos was delayed due to the bad weather. We will announce the new date for the blessing as we proceed! After installation, our next few steps will be a new tabernacle (with veils that match the altar) and a re-location of our sanctuary lamp. These won t happen for several weeks as we work to ensure everything is the right size and style for our church. Hurricane Florence has changed our plans and Fall Festival has been postponed to Sunday, September, 23rd. Please come and join us at 12 Noon for a mini Fall Festival. There s something for everyone of every age! This Tuesday, we ll have our Town Hall meetings. Please make every effort to attend of one of the two sessions (1:00 PM and 7:00 PM). We ll be discussing our parish finances, vision for the future, a capital campaign, and land purchase (among any other topics that are brought up in conversation)! All are welcome! This coming Saturday (Sept 22), we ll have our next Formation Day from 9:00 AM 12 Noon. We ll walk through the various parts and ceremonies of the. All are welcome! Next weekend, we have our annual Diaper Drive! Please bring a bag of diapers with you to. All of these diapers will go to help mothers in need! Thank you for participating! Some updates on our parish staff: Carole King, who worked in the rectory, has been offered and accepted a full-time position with the diocesan Family Life Office. While we ll miss her here at Team Grace, I know that she has worked hard for a position like this, and so we wish her all the best! Also, Lisa Keeler gave notice and has resigned as our Parish Secretary. We also wish her the best in her future endeavors! More updates next week. Let us pray for one another!
