PRAYER AND PRAISE Thank you so much for contributing to our Kits for Kidz program this season! All donations received from Sioux County benefit children within Sioux County. This year, 97 kids in 54 households received a backpack and school supplies with your help! It was wonderful to have such a tremendous response from Sioux County. Mid-Sioux Opportunity Thank you to everyone who helped out with our Awana Supper and Registration night! The food was delicious and we had a great turnout. Please be in prayer for our new Awana season! Please be in prayer for the Ridder Group who will be attending Faithwalking next weekend Dave & Vera Boender, Pat Harms, Lisa Nelson, Jeff & Shauna Neuman, Peg Noack, Pastor Dave & Bonnie Poppen, LaVonne Sietstra, Wanda Slykhuis, and Carla Starkenburg. Pray for God s guidance as they continue to grow spiritually. ANNOUNCEMENTS If you are visiting today, WELCOME! Be our guest today! Enjoy a time of fellowship before the service with a cup of coffee found in the room off of the sanctuary, and afterward in the same room or down in the fellowship basement. Today we will have a presentation from the Gideons and their work in our area. The Natural Church Development Health Team will meet tonight at 7 pm in Pastor Dave s office. AWANA! Starts this coming Wednesday! We hope you are as excited as we are!! We had 30 children register at our Supper and Registration night. We anticipate this number to get larger as the season progresses. If you find yourself with a free Wednesday night, please come and check out this awesome program! See the joy that each clubber & leader experiences! Youth Group! We are also very excited for the upcoming season of Youth Group! They will be introducing some new lessons and curriculum this season. Kevin & Andreah Maassen are again the leaders (THANK YOU!!!). Youth group is for kids in 9 th -12 th grades and meets Weds nights at 7 pm in the parsonage basement. 3

ANNOUNCEMENTS Offering for Sept 9, 2018 General Fund $2,453.00 Mission Fund $ 500.00 Calling all Choir Members and everyone who can sing! There will be a brief meeting in the front of the sanctuary after worship today. If you are interested in continuing a choir at Boyden First, please stop for a visit. Next week Sunday, we will begin a new series of sermons entitled Overflowing Outreach. There will be five messages to help motivate us to look outside ourselves and our comfortable places to bring people to the Savior, Jesus Christ. Potluck Sunday September 30 th! Everyone is invited to take part in a potluck lunch following worship on Sunday, September 30 th (a fifth Sunday of the month). Please bring a hot or cold dish to share. Table service and drinks will be provided. And you ll have a chance to visit with one of our missionaries, JJ Ten Clay. She will share stories of her mission work in Italy helping with the refugee crisis occurring there during our worship service that morning. Praise Bags-The Music and Worship Committee is assembling praise bags for the young children to use during the service. They will be filled with colors and coloring books, picture books, paper and pencil, small toys, etc. and can be picked up and left in the entries. We are looking for something like a hall tree for each entrance to hang them on. If you have one you are no longer using or if you are handy at woodworking and would like to make something, please contact either Kathy Ver Meer or Tom Reuvers. Save the date! October 7 th is BEE-There Sunday as well as World Wide Communion Sunday. Consider BEEing here on that date. And don t forget to invite your friends and family! What gift will be given to each participant? Audio & Video Volunteers for Sunday services are needed! Please visit with Teresa if you are interested. You are welcome to come to the back any Sunday to watch our current wizards and learn the tricks of the trade! Just kidding! There is nothing very difficult about it! You can help enhance our services on Sunday mornings! 4

It is time! We will be accepting gently used clothing at Boyden First Reformed Church for Justice For All in Rock Valley the week of Oct 1-4. The south entry of the church will be open for your items Monday, October 1 through Thursday October 4 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Wednesday evening (Oct 3) until 8:00 p.m. If you have any questions call LaVonne Sietstra at 725-2090 or Teresa at the church 725-2366. ANNOUNCEMENTS Habitat for Humanity home in Hull The decorated boards in the basement will be used to build this home! There s still space on the boards to add your blessing! Thank you to everyone who has already shared! The SHARE group for widows and widowers will meet on Thursday, September 20th at 6:00pm at Homestead Commons in Hull for a grilled supper. You are encouraged to bring along $5 to help cover the cost of our meal. Following our meal, we will enjoy a harp program from Bernie Weier of George. Pie will be served for dessert. The doors open at 6 pm when you can look over the donated items and enjoy soup and dessert. The auction will begin at 7 pm. If you would like to donate items for the auction, either larger items (dinners, tickets, outings, meat bundles, etc.) or smaller items and homemade goodies, all are welcome!
