The Vision 2018 Sunday, May 20 9:00 AM Sunday School 10:00 AM Morning Worship Rev. Mike Bowling - Guest Speaker Covered-dish lunch in the gym Immediately following the Morning Worship Service (Bring a well-filled basket of food!)

Focus on...the Pastor s Message page 2 Dear Church Family, One of the greatest needs in the church of Jesus Christ today, in my opinion, is unity. Now, we are certainly blessed with a very special unity at Mt. Carmel but the unity I am talking about is bigger. I believe that God has called all of His people the Church to work in unity to reach out to those who are lost and unchurched. We practice this unity in a number of ways in our Baptist heritage. Some of the most familiar are our work within the local association, our state convention, and our national convention. But there is also another area of unity that I believe is vitally important that we be involved in and that is within the churches right here in the Dacusville community. I believe it is imperative that our local churches (no matter the denomination) work together to impact our community. One of the ways we can do this is through the Dacusville Awakening prayer meetings. We will be hosting this meeting on Monday evening, May 14 at 7:00 pm. I am praying that each of you will put that date on your calendar and come to unify with our other local churches in prayer for God to send revival in our community. I can t begin to imagine how God will bless our community if we all come together in unity praying for an outpouring of His Spirit. Please make plans to join us! I hope you will also help us get the word out as we plan to celebrate Homecoming on Sunday, May 20. This year marks 184 years that Mt. Carmel has ministered in the Dacusville community and reached out around the world. Our guest speaker will be Rev. Mike Bowling, the husband of our ministry assistant, Charlene Bowling. Following our service, we will have a wonderful lunch where we can enjoy fellowship with each other. If you are in contact with some who have been a part of the Mt. Carmel family in the past, please contact them and invite them to join us. This would be a great day to invite someone who is unchurched to join you as well. Thanks to each of you who are so faithful to serve and pray for this great ministry. Please be praying for our Nominating Team as they begin the work of preparing our leadership report for the coming year. If there is a particular area of ministry that you would like to be involved in, go ahead and let them know where you would like to serve. Let s all work together to find our place and help carry the load of the ministry God has entrusted to us. In His Love, Pastor Paul

Focus on...music Ministry page Dear Church Family, I want to say thank you to the Adult Choir for the powerful presentation of This is God. I am so grateful for their time and commitment but most importantly, for the way they led in worship. This was a beautiful presentation of the Gospel and I believe one of the best musicals we ve ever done. Thank you, Choir, for how you lead every week in worship and for blessing my life in so many ways! Be sure to mark your calendar for Sunday night, May 27 at 6:00 PM as the Children s Choir presents Soul on Fire. They have worked so hard and I know they will do a great job. Invite friends and family to join you as our children lead us in worship on this night. Summer is fast approaching and it can be a time when many are gone from Sunday to Sunday. I challenge the members of the choir to be in your place each week that you re in town. Summer is a great time to join the choir and we always need new members especially MEN!! I know there are those (men and women) sitting in our congregation each week who love music and would be a great asset to our music ministry. I am so thankful for the men that we have in the choir but because they are few in number, when just one is missing it makes it difficult for the rest of those who are there to carry the weight. Come on, Mt. Carmel men, please consider joining us on Sundays at 4:45 PM for rehearsal! We need YOU!! Singing His Praises, Beth Turner

Focus On...Events SUNDAY, MAY 6 We will celebrate Senior Adult Day at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church during our Morning Worship Service. Our Senior Adults (and those retired before age 62), will be recognized in the service. Immediately following the service a luncheon will be held in the fellowship room in honor of all our senior adults. Please Note: if you need transportation, call one of the numbers listed below. And if you need to have a family member attend with you, please feel free to bring them along. But, it will be helpful with our food preparation if you will let us know how many will be attending. JoAnn Thornton: 420-7243 Dot Redding: 444-3366 Linda Wilson: 855-6421 Church Office: 442-5320 CHILDREN S MUSICAL Soul On Fire Sunday, May 27 6:00 pm Join us as the children share the gospel in this presentation. Invite family and friends to come and support the kids.

Focus on Missions Cont. page SHARE YOUR PRODUCE WITH UNITED CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES Many of the clients who come to UCM for food assistance cannot eat processed/ canned foods for health reasons, etc. and fresh garden items would be wonderful. You and your families are encouraged to share any excess of fresh vegetables from your gardens in the coming months. All donations will be taken directly to UCM. Instructions are listed below. Thank you for giving of your abundance of what God has bless you with. Donations may be dropped off at UCM each Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
