Durham (ret.) is a lawyer, judge, scholar, professor, and public servant. She served as a Justice on the Utah Supreme Court from 1982 to 2017, including service as Chief Justice from 2002 to 2012. In 1978, Durham became a trial judge in the Third Judicial District Court for the State of Utah. She served for four years, one of them as the presiding judge. She was appointed as a Justice of the Utah Supreme Court by then-governor Scott M. Matheson in 1982 and became the Chief Justice in April 2002. She resigned as Chief Justice in March 2012. In addition to her work on the bench, Justice Durham has been recognized nationally for her work in judicial education and for her leadership efforts to improve the administration of justice in Utah and throughout the United States. CONVENTION ATTIRE: A primary function of the Convention is to provide a casual atmosphere that allows attendees to meet with their peers from across the state. Therefore, the dress code is casual for the entire Convention. MANDATORY CLE: The Utah MCLE Board has approved the 2018 Spring Convention for up to 10 hours of CLE credit, which includes up to 3 hrs. Ethics, 1 hr. Prof./Civ., 2 hours for the CLE film presentation (Friday, 3:15 5:45 pm), 1 hour for the Friday luncheon and 1 hour for Session 3 at 2:00 pm. Sign in required for the lunch, film and Friday Session 3 to receive credit. Separate CLE certificates are provided for each of the sign-in sessions.
