MICAH- Memphis Interfaith Coalition for Action and Hope is a coalition of faith congregations and community organizations which have come together to amplify our voice for social justice in Memphis. In this historical time of the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King s assassination, MICAH aims to come together to carry out his vision of the Beloved Community. There are now almost 50 partnering organizations, and the Parish Council in accordance with the Social Outreach priority has voted to join MICAH. MICAH is currently in its first stage which they call the Listening Campaign where each partnering organization is commissioned to conduct one on one meetings with their respective parishioners to find out each other s stories, our passions, and which social justice issues we feel are most pressing. Then all the partnering organizations will come together for an Issues Convention in June to vote on the top priority issues that MICAH will focus on (similar to our house meeting process). We are excited to join with others to be a part of this movement towards building the Beloved Community Together and hope you will join us! For more information see Micahmemphis.org or Contact Monica Juma - mjuma@uthsc.edu Upcoming Dates: Monthly MICAH Partner Meeting May 8th 7pm - Freedoms Chapel June 24th MICAH Issues Convention 3pm - Lindenwood Church
