How to pray: Prepare: close your eyes, breath, clear your mind Lectio (read): Open your eyes and scan the scripture or an image. Note what draws your interest, but continue to scan the whole scripture. or image Close and rest your eyes a minute. Meditation (meditate): Open your eyes and Let your eyes be led. Focus on just one part of the scrip- How to pray: Set aside some quiet time at the end of the day. Ask for God s presence in your prayer time. Thank God for the day s blessings. Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance. Gô over the events of the day, looking for 2 positive and 2 negative aspects. Imagine you are reviewing your day with Jesus. Talk to him about your reactions and emotions during the day....continue on Back How to pray: Choose a sacred word. Sit comfortable, with eyes closed and relax. Quiet your thoughts and ask God to enter in. Let your sacred word be present as a symbol of your intention to be in God s presence. Focus on you word, but try to keep it unspoken. When you feel your mind drifting return to your sacred word as an anchor. How to pray: Choose a verse or short passage of scripture from the Bible to pray READ the verse or short passage slowly, several times, listening with the ear of the heart REFLECT on the words, attentive to which word or phrase speaks most to your heart

Reconcile and resolve. Confess and apologise where you were wrong and ask for God s guidance to do better in the future. Think about tomorrow. Ask God for His presence in specific situations and challenges that await. ture or image and name it. Close your eyes, seeing that pièce of the scripture or image in your mind. Oratio (pray): Open your eyes and look again at the pièce of scripture or image that caught your eye. Allow it to bring forth a word, metaphor or emotion. What is God speaking to you today through this scripture or image? Close your eyes and rest. RESPOND to the word or phrase that spoke to you, turning it over and over in your heart, offering it up in prayer REST in God, sit in silence and listen for how God speaks through that word and phrase. Remain in the silence with eyes closed. Ideally, spend 15-20 minutes in silent prayer.

How to pray: Start with focusing on someone specific you have a relationship with. Pray for: R = Relying on God (May we rely on God more than we do on each other or ourselves) E = Encourage (May wê encourage each other and be able to ask for help when we need it.) L = Love (May we show love to each other and may we feel loved and that we belong) A = Admire (May you acknowledge those things you admire in each other. Thank God for the blessing of this gift in your relationship) T = Trust (May you be trustworthy and honour the Pray for the Following: That they will experience love and beloning That they will grow in knowledge of God, themselves and this world. That they will know what really matters in life That they will live a pure and blameless life That they will experience the fruit of salvation That they will have godly people who love them and motivate them in faith S = Self Control (That they will choose wisely how they react to teachers, friends, stumbling blocks, opportunities) C = Courage (That they will be brave and make hard choices to attempt things that scare them or make them uncomfortable. That they will continue to attempt things even if they don t succeed the first time) H = Help from the Holy Spirit (That they will be safe and protected from harm. That they will discern and be wise in classes and What to pray for: D = Do your best at what you are responsible for. Do what you can and find peace in enough. E = Enter into more quiet time with God. Ask for His council and wisdom. C = Cease anxious thoughts about our future or daily challenges. Celebrate Small victories. I = Inquire about how God can use you, where you

How can you be His follower today? S = Seek Gods glory in all you do. Run from situations or people WHO tempt you or lead you to sin. I = Ignore the temptation to make money the most important goal. Work hard, but learn how to play. O = Open for the moment. Enjoy your day, laugh at jokes, listen intently, encourage the hurt, disagree with respect, keep boundaries, follow your heart. N = Never give up. Be brave. Dare Greatly. Be seen. Do it daily. Live your values. activities) O = Opportunities to do Good (That they will form godly friendships and serve each other. That they will see the need of others and act upon it) O = Overcome Evil (That they will not be bullies or retaliate with hate when bullied. How to pray: A = Adoration C = Confession T = Thanksgiving S = Supplication Tell God how wonderful He is; Worship Him Admit your sins, cry out your brokenness, ask for forgiveness Say thank you for all God has done in your life Make your requests to God for yourself and for others Ideas: Write out your prayers or scripture Record the ways you pray and journal your experience with each Keep a list of prayer requests Write Down what you hear from God, maybe use a different colour ink to record God s word. Pray scripture Pray written prayers How to pray: P = Praise Praise God for who He is and what He does A = Admit Admit that you are Human and make mistakes. Ask for forgiveness and turn your back on this. T = Thank Thank God for his forgiveness, mercy, gifts, blessings, guidance and answers. H = Help Ask God s help with your desires, struggles, enemies and loved ones. Pray and elaborate: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name. Your kingdom come, your will be done. On earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our sins. As we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver US from evil. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours. Now and forever. Amen

How to pray: 1.) Start with a song 2.) Read a passage of scripture 3.) Song 4.) Time of silence to listen for God 5.) Song 6.) Pray for others 7.) Close with the Lord s prayer Ideally, find a vriend or two to walk with you Walk the streets of your neighbourhood, silently praying for each person., each house Pray for specific needs if you know them, or just pray for God s truth and blessings for each person. Pray walking should be low-profile. You don t need to carry a Bible, pray out loud or tell everyone what you re doing. Just quietly pray as you walk. How to pray: Choose something or someone you see frequently throughout your week Decide a brief prayer you ll say each time you see that prompt Each time you see that person. Or thing, say a quick prayer Say your prayer quietly or aloud and involve your family or friends. Write a name for God, the name of someone you re praying for or words from a scripture verse. Draw a shape around it and begin to doodle. Pray as you draw. Ask God to be part of this prayer time. Keep drawing as you release these prayers to God. Don t think about what you re drawing. Your mind will start to focus on the prayer.

To Relax and Clear your Mind: Get comfortable Begin breathing full breaths, in and out Take a breath in, on the exhale count 50 As you inhale, count Down to 49, then 48 as you exhale. Continue to count backward on each inhale and exhale until you reach 20. After 20, only count on the exhales. Count Down to 0 and then just breath and relax Begin with a circle Fill in a name of someone or topic you want to pray for. It can even be yourself. Around the circle write down random words that the person or topic awakens in you. As you start praying, focus on the words you randomly wrote down and let them lead you. You can make notes, exaggerate on them or just listen. How to pray: Set aside some quiet time when you can focus Take some deep breathes to clear your thoughts Close your eyes and clear you thoughts Ask God to be with you in the silence and to speak to your heart Sit in silence and listen for God. Start with 3 minutes and work up to 15 minutes or môre Take notes of what God places on your heart. P = Personal Life A = Administration S = Sermon Study T = Tests and Trials O = Oversight R = Resources Their walk with God and Family Their discernment and leadership Guidance with sermon preparation For Grace, Strength and Growth Their personal ministries. Care of the Faith Family Stewardship, wisdom and opportunities with Faith Family members and projects

Start collecting prayers that speak to you, or give you the words you don t yet have. Close your eyes and breath. Calm your thoughts. Read thought the prayer. Close your eyes again and remain quiet listening for God. Read the prayer again. Make notes. Rephrase it. Expand on it. Close your eyes again and wait for the Lord. A = Anointing R = Revelation I = Inspiration S = Sensitive E = Endurance Pray for God s anointing on your life Pray that God will reveal himself to you as well as your ministry in this world Pray for God to inspire you with a passion that does not go cold Pray that you will become sensitive to the Holy Spirit Pray that you will not grow tired or weary How to pray: Praise God for who He is and what He P = Praise does D = Decisive Declare Jesus as your Lord (I m yours) R = Remake A = Attitude Y = Yummy That God will remake our hearts and this world so His kingdom can come That I will have an attitude of obedience and love That God will bless and give His favour A = Available I = Intentional L = Loving Declare your passion to start (I m ready) Declare your willingness to begin (I ll try) Declare your motivation (I m doing this because I love You) E = Expose That wê will become aware of our sins Y = Yielded Declare you submission (I trust in You) R = Rescue Expose our temptations and help US to stand firm against it

Choose a Psalm and read through it. Linger over the words Is there a particular verse that stands out to you today? Specific words that seem to speak to your heart? Read that verse aloud over and over, emphasising different words. Write out the verse in your own words with the emphasis you hear as you read it aloud. Pray for yourself and others from it. G = Greet Invite God into your quiet time. Declare your desire to spend time with Him. R = Read Use an inspiring scripture, prayer or image. Read or look at it two or three times. Observe what draws your eye continuously. O = Observe Why is that speaking to you? What emotion is it awakening in you? W = Write Write Down you own thoughts and emotion. Also write Down what you hear from God. Thumb Index Finger Middle Finger Ring Vinger Pinki Closest to you. Pray for those close to your heart. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal you. They need support and wisdom. The tallest finger. It reminds us to pray for our leaders and those in authority. The weakest finger. Pray for the weak, the sick or those plagued with problems. The smallest finger. Once you ve prayed for others, you ll be able to see your own needs in a beter way. Choose a scripture or use one S = Scripture from a devotion or reading plan Observe what is speaking to you. O = Observe What are you curious about? How can you apply this is your life? How will you remind A = Application yourself of this scripture today? Praise God for the scripture P = Praise and the way He will bring this to life in your life.

A = Adore His majesty. (Praise and be in awe of the God you serve.) B = Bless Him through service. (Ask God where you can serve Him and do so with a joyous heart.) I = Incline your heart toward His Word (Pray for a love of the scriptures you practice daily. May your understanding of it increase exponentially.) D = Dwell deep in His love (Ask that God will make His love for you tangible. Thrive in the identity of God s beloved.) E = Exalt Him with joy (Honour Him as King of your life. Does your life reflect your King?) W = Wait upon the Lord - Close your eyes and breath. O = Offer your life as a living sacrifice - Commit to your walk with the Lord R = Rest in His presence - Close your eyes and be with Him. S = Sing unto Him - Choose a song and listen to it on repeat. You can also sing it a few times through. H = Humble ourselves before Hom - Acknowledge your need of Christ. I = Intimacy with God - Share your thoughts and feelings P = Pleasing Him - Express your love for Him H = Honour God with praise (Praise God for who He is and what He does.) E = Examine your life (Where have you not honoured God by the way you live? Where have you been faithful to Him?) A = Ask for help/needs (Bring to God your desires and you struggles. Do not take it back.) R = Requests for others (Intercede for others) T = Thank God (Thank God for His blessings, Forgiveness and Restoration.) Watch God work in His ways. W = Watch See it in the Bible, in your past. And all around you. Ask God about His purposes. A = Ask Listen to His word and get to know His heart. Invite God to work in your heart. I = Invite Ask God to change your heart so it will seek only Him. Trust in God to fulfil His plans. T = Trust Ask God to give you patience, faith and hope to wait patiently for Him.
