Special Poojai to Abirami Amman with Regular Poojai 7.30pm Adi Pooram Aadi Pooram is celebrated in all Hindu temples in southern India in the month called Aadi or Ashadha, corresponding to the English months of July-August, when the asterism Pooram (Delta Leonis) is in the ascendancy. The festival is observed to propitiate the goddess Sakti Devi who is said to have come into this world on this occasion to bless the people. Significance and Importance of Varalakshmi Vratam Varalakshmi vratam happens to be a sacred day for the Hindus. Popularly known as Varalakshmi Virata. It is performed by married Hindu ladies on Friday before the full moon day during the month of Sravana(August). Varalakshmi Puja Viratham is an important puja dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi the Hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity. Devotees who observed this Puja get Blessed by Goddess Luxmi and get all the wealth for their family. The Vratham is performed more in the Southern part of Indian states such as Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu and also in some parts of Orissa and Maharashtra. Brisbane Selvavinayakar (Ganesha) Temple encourage devotees to participate on monthly devotional bajans. Bajans are held on the last Friday of each month with religious talk by Smt;Sujatha Vasudevan after the evening Puja at 7.30pm. 9) Monthly Vishnu Sahasra Nama Parayanam and Abishekam on Sunday 5 th August 2012 Special Puja for Narayanar 10.00am Sahastra Nama Parayanam,Manthra Pushpam and Hanuman Challisa 10.30am 10) Maha Sankatakara Chathurthi on Sunday 5 th August 2012 Significance of Sankatakara Chathurthi Sankashti Chaturthi Viratha observed on the Chaturthi, the fourth day of Krishna Paksha (chaturthi which comes after the full moon) during every month. Devotees of Lord Ganesha consider the viratam as highly auspicious and effective in overcoming obstacles and problems. On Sankatakara Chathurthi Day Special Puja for Lord vinayakar will be performed with the Regular Puja.

11) Aadi Kiruthikai on Friday 10 th August 2012 Special Puja to Lord Murugan 7.30pm Special Dinner(Anna Thanam) 8.00pm Aadi Kiruthikai Aadi Kiruthikai(Karthikai Star) is very auspicious day for Lord Murugan. Lord Murugan is the second child of Lord Shiva and Lord Parvathi.. As Lord Murugan was brought up by Karthikai Virgins he got the special name Karthikeyan. Devotees observe fasting on Adi Kiruthikai(Karthikai)day have the blessing of Lord Shiva and gets Moksha stage after their life.lord Shiva gave this boon to Karthikai Virgins according to Skantha Puranam Hindu Tamil literature.. Lord Murugan devotees celebrate this day with fasting and Pal Kudam (Milk Pot) with Kavadi prayer in most of the Murugan Temples around the world
