Take it to the Lord in prayer; In His arms He'll take and shield thee, SERMON LUCILLE AND JESUS: SHARED IN DEATH WHAT THEY SHARED IN LIFE AND WHAT THEY NOW SHARE IN ETERNITY. Luke 23:44-45 P: God has made us his people through our Baptism into Christ. Living together in trust and hope, we confess our faith with all the saints. I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, 6
was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life + everlasting. Amen. PRAYER O God, the Father of compassion, shower Your mercies on this family, and all who mourn the death of our departed sister, Lucille. May these mercies be new each day to sooth the pain of each day as we await the heavenly reunion with Jesus Christ and this loved one. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. O God the Son, dearest Jesus, our Good Shepherd, make Your rod and staff of comfort known to those who mourn. May Your goodness and love revealed in Your Word and Sacraments be known in their daily lives. Guide them in Your paths of righteousness as they await the heavenly reunion with Jesus Christ and this loved one. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. 7
O God the Holy Spirit, show us the mountain of hope---the mountain of the cross of Christ. Strengthen our faith with Your Word and Sacraments that we may join those who have overcome all tribulations and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Keep us faithful as we await the heavenly reunion with Jesus Christ and this loved one. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen. The Lord lift up his countenance on you and give you peace. C: Amen. Lucille A. Brune Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through His servant, Lucille. Lucille Alice (nee Biermann) Brune was born on October 23, 1932 in rural Leslie to her parents William J. and Louise Biermann. Lucille was reborn as a child of God in the waters of Holy Baptism on January 8, 1933 at the Casco Methodist Church. On November 29, 1953 Lucille became of member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church through the rite of adult Confirmation. Lucille was united in holy Marriage to Gilbert Brune on April 12, 1953 at the Casco Methodist Church. Lucille was blessed with a loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Louise, her sister Wilma Young and her brothers Albert Biermann and William Biermann, Jr. Lucille is survived by her husband, Gilbert, three children, son Dennis G. Brune & wife LaRayne of New Haven, son Paul W. Brune & wife Gretchen of New Haven and daughter 10
Donna Sue Miller & husband Robert of Fenton, Missouri, by three sisters Irma Evert of Union, Eleanor Berger of Union and Irene Hoemann of Washington, a brother Gilpin Biermann of Woodriver, Illinois and by eight grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Lucille as a very active member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church. Lucille was a member of the Ladies Aid, sang in our choir, quilter, and a voting member of the congregation. Lucille was a dedicated mother and housewife, providing well for her family. Lucille enjoyed sewing, gardening, and cooking. On February 10, 2014, God called Lucille to her home in heaven. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our sister, Lucille. The Brune family would like to invite relatives and dear friends for fellowship and dinner immediately after committal service at our church cemetery 11
