The classes will be run live via teleconference and allow the audience to interact with Rabbi Spitz in real time. The class will run Sundays at 4:00 pm in the Zion room, and will last for approximately 1 hour. The cost is $50 for the series of 10 classes. Payment can be provided when arriving. PROFILE This week we continue with another edition of PROFILES. This week we spotlight the Bar Mitzvah boy Zach Rabin. TCS: Mazel Tov on your Bar Mitzvah. Have you enjoyed the process to prepare? Zach: I don t mind the practice so much.i have a great teacher in Dorit Cohen. She is known as the Bar Mitzvah teacher to the stars. TCS: Do you have any siblings? Zach: I have a sister Mikayla. She is more of a singer than I am. TCS: How are you similar or different compare to your sister? Zach: We are different in almost every way, but we do have similar interests. TCS: Your family enjoys travelling. Have you been anywhere exciting? Zach: When I was really young we went to South Africa where my parents where born. We have also been to the Bahamas and Hawaii. TCS: Are you looking forward to high school? Zach: It is a little far off so I am not thinking about it much. TCS: What is your favourite subject in school? Zach: Gym. I like badminton and racquet sports. Track and Field, long jump in particular. TCS: Do you have any hobbies? Zach: I like watching sports. TCS: Warriors or Cavaliers? Zach: Warriors will sweep. TCS: What is a fun Rabin Family thing to do? Zach: We love to swim. We really love the beach and are definitely coastal people. We also love to play board games. TCS: Do you follow any sports? Zach: I love tennis. TCS: Who is going to win the French Open? Zach: Nadal. TCS: Can you beat your Dad? Zach: No, at least not yet. TCS: How many more years until you overtake him? Zach: 3 or 4 more.
TCS: Are you counting more on your Dad slowing down or you improving. Zach: My improvement. Zach s Dad: Good answer. TCS: Are you more like your Mom or your Dad? Zach: I have similar interests to my Dad and probably more like him. TCS: What are your summer plans? Zach: I am going to camp Trip Takers and tennis camp. TCS: Any stories about your other sibling? Zach: My sister begged for a dog for 5 years. TCS: What do you want to be when you grow up? Zach: I want to be a lawyer. I love to debate; I never give up and can be quite persuasive. TCS: Peanut Butter and Jam, Peanut Butter and Banana or Peanut Butter and Grape Jelly? Zach: I don t like Peanut Butter but I do like Jam. I really like sweets. TCS: Favourite candy? Zach: Sour sticks, blue raspberry. TCS: Morning person or late night owl? Zach: I used to be more of a morning person but now I am more prone to burn the midnight oil. TCS: How many cups of coffee do you need to get going in the morning? Zach: None. TCS: Something about you, that makes your Abba and Ima proud? Zach: My parents appreciate that I am humble. TCS: Tell us something that even friends might not know about you. Zach: We play video games in the winter and go to the park when the weather is warmer. TCS: So Stuart our president elect is busy this week tearing up the Jewish men s softball league with stellar pitching and clutch hitting especially when he can keep on his feet. While Stuart Haber is busy on the diamond, we are making you president for the week. What changes will you make? Zach: I would get a new profiles editor. Real Zach: I did not say that. TCS: But you were thinking it. Zach: No, no I was not. I would, however, make the services start later and go quicker. Profiles Editor: Game, Set, Match!
FATHER s DAY PROFILE SUBMISSIONS He cooked for you, cleaned for you, made your lunches and cut the crusts of the bread just the way you liked it, sewed buttons on your shirt, gave your scraped knee a little kiss before applying the bandage and changed your diapers when you were a baby. No wait that was Mommy. But he was great on the BBQ and at the very least you owe him a note of thanks. ATCS is giving you that chance. Here are the details: Message: No longer than 100 words. We don t want your father s memoirs. Contact Ken Burns if you want to put together his biography. Deadline: Monday, June 11 th. Format: Ideally in a Word document but e-mail text will grudgingly be accepted. Kids without e- mail access can submit clearly written notes. Cost: Suggested donation of $10 to support the youth minyan. Free for kids under 18. Free for kids over 50. Please indicate whether you are comfortable allowing ATCS to make minor modifications if deemed necessary i.e. shorten.
