The Methodist Prayer Handbook PRAYER POINTERS Each year the Methodist Church publishes a Prayer Handbook. Each new edition connects Christians from different times, places and walks of life. Classic prayers are interwoven with new contributions from Methodists across the districts and around the world and arranged as a 31-day prayer cycle. Here are a couple of prayers from this year s book: Jesus, you are our portal to God. You radically change people s lives: you turn arguing to peace, hatred to love, darkness to light, death into new life. As the Flood in the story of Noah washed the world clean, make our world sparkle with your love and joy. Let our lives shine like dazzling stars so that your love can be seen from light years away. Amen (Pupil Worship Team, Hippings Methodist Primary School, Oswaldtwistle) Generous God, thank you for the many blessings of the Cumbria District which are rich and varied; For the beauty of the landscape and the warmth of the people; For the way that Methodists and other Christians are joining together to create new forms of ministry and mission. We praise you that faith is deep and hope is real (from Day 9) It s not too late to get hold of a copy! https://www.methodistpublishing.org.uk/books/pr90018/methodist-prayerhandbook-20182019 URGENT PRAYER REQUESTS: please call 01768 862787 or email admin@penrithmethodist.co.uk and we will pass on your request to all members of our congregation who are on email.
