The Makaral Temple is where the karma-busting mantra Makaral Shivayanama comes from. According to Dr Pillai (Baba), \walking around the main shrine in the the Makaral Temple will eradicate your most stubborn negatives karmas (financial, health and relationship). On this visit, we will be walking around the main shrine 27 times for some serious karma busting! Ekambareswarar Temple, Kanchipuram: This temple was built around 600 AD and is still revered as one of the 5 greatest Shiva temples today. Shiva exists here as the Earth element and the sound NA (of the mantra OM NA MA SI VA YA). As Dr Pillai (Baba) teaches, once you master the power of NA, you acquire the power of the Earth (materiality) and all the riches it has to offer such as gold, silver and precious jewellery.. Thiruvanai Temple: At this power vortex, Shiva lives is in the form of a Linga of Water. Here, unusually, Shiva and His consort, Parvati face one another in their respective shrines and it is at this temple that Shiva revealed the mysteries of creation to Parvati. At Thiruvanai Temple, you can infuse your body mind and soul with the power and energy of the water element, which is represented by the sound MA. Chidambaram Temple: Since ancient times, Chidambaram has been regarded as the centre of the universe. At the Chidambaram Temple, Shiva appears as the Cosmic Dancer and exists in the form of Akash (Ether). This temple is truly ancient and over the centuries, many great saints and siddhas have made pilgrimages to Chidambaram to experience union with Shiva. Dr Pillai (Baba), in His previous birth as the great Saint Mannikavacakar hundreds of years ago, was recorded as having ascended at Chidambaram by merging into the statue of Shiva as the Cosmic Dancer. At Chidambaram, the Ether (Akash) element is represented by the sound YA. The Ancient Chidambaram Temple Mohini was telling me that on one of the India trips several years ago, a French devotee (who didn t know about the story of Dr Pillai (Baba) s birth as Saint Mannikavacakar), saw Dr Pillai (Baba) s face in the very same statue of Shiva as the Cosmic Dancer! (e) Shiva Temple at Sirkali: This Shiva powerspot boasts some of the most unique divine shrines within the templex complex. At this temple, the Siddha boy-saint Thirugnanasambandar (who gave us the Thiruneela Kantam mantra), was nourished with Parvati s milk. Page 2
Thirugnanasambandar, who ascended into Light at the age of 16, was one of Dr Pillai (Baba) s previous incarnations. (f) Vadalur Temple: This is the amazing temple built by Swami Ramalinga, Dr Pillai (Baba) s most recent incarnation. Swami Ramalinga ascended into Light in 1874 and this was actually documented by the British who were the then colonial masters of India. Swami Ramalinga supervised the building of Vadalur, his octagonal shape temple, without once stepping foot into the temple, but did so remotely through his own great siddhi (supernatural) powers. Through his third eye, he could see when a particular builder was not building the temple according to architectural plans! Swami Ramalinga At Vadalur, we will get to experience two profound blessings:- first, we will get to experience the original vortex where the great mantra Arut Perum Jyothi was revealed by Shiva Himself to Swami Ramalinga. Shiva s promise is that this is the ultimate mantra to turn the body into Light! second, we will visit Swami Ramalinga s own house nearby. Swami Ramalinga s house is a most divine powerspot and we will have the privilege to practice the Grace Light and meditate with Arut Perum Jyothi just outside the room where Swami Ramalinga ascended into Light. This room has been sealed since the day Swami Ramalinga ascended into Light in 1874. (g) (h) (i) Thiruvidaimaruthur Temple: At this vortex, Shiva exists as the Jyoti (Light) Linga. The Linga is the symbol of the formless nature of the Divine and on another level, the union of the masculine and feminine energies. A unique feature of this temple is that there is a shrine to Goddess Mookambiga, the Supreme Goddess, who is also known as Goddess Lalita Tripura Sundari. It is from Goddess Mookambiga (Goddess Lalita) that the other goddesses spring forth i.e. Goddess Lakshmi, Goddess Saraswati and Goddess Parvati. Goddess Mookambiga is therefore truly the supreme Goddess. Shivapuram Temple: This is a great Shiva power vortex where the divine being Brahma worshipped Shiva before he commenced creation of the world. A natural Shiva linga, revered by the boy saint Thirugnanasambandar, is believed to be hidden under the temple complex. Thiruvaduthurai Temple: For most of us, this is a significant temple for two reasons: - First: this is where Dr Pillai (Baba) Himself almost ascended 9 years ago! According to His devotees who were there with Him on that fateful day, Dr Pillai (Baba) had started walking into the temple's sanctum sanctorium and was about to merge with the most powerful Shiva Linga there. Baba stopped Himself just in time as He wanted to complete His mission on earth. That is how powerful the Shiva Linga there is! - Second: Thiruvaduthurai temple is also where one of the greatest of all Siddha masters, Siddha Thirumoolar, is buried. Siddha Thirumoolar was the Siddha master who while in deep meditation, cognised the manifesting mantra, Ara Kara, one of the supreme mantras for manifesting and for turning the body into Light. We will sit at Siddha Thirumoolar s samadhi shrine to meditate and chant Ara Kara. Siddha Thirumoolar Page 3
This next visit has got to be the highlight of the trip!! (j) We will visit Thiruvanamalai and Mount Arunachala on the particular full moon night which is very special to Shiva. Mount Arunachala is suppose to be Shiva Himself in the form of fire here and is represented by the syllable SHI. Mount Arunachala has the power to remove your ego and bring you one step closer to the Divine. Mount Arunachala is also very special because millions of Siddha (perfected) masters live in Mount Arunachala in their light form and you will never know who you could meet as you are walking around Arunachala. The seeming beggar you encounter on the trail could be a great Siddha master come to give you his blessings! SHIVA as Fire: Mt Arunachala The Siddhas teach that walking one (1) round around Mount Arunachala as a pilgrimage erases the karmic sins of ten (10) million births! As we will be staying a beautiful eco-resort very close to Mount Arunachala, we will encourage those of you who are up for it to walk around Mount Arunachala as many times as you can!! Each walk takes about 2.5 hours. But that is not all! As this is a very special full moon night for Shiva, Astroved will be running a feeding station to feed thousands of pilgrims who will be also walking around Mount Arunachala on this full moon night. Dr Pillai (Baba) has taught that you can obtain the highest of highest blessings from the Divine when you feed a hungry being. Therefore, all of us that night will have the most highest blessings to help Astroved feed the thousands of pilgrims and obtain immeasurable grace from God. Astroved Full Moon Feeding While at Thiruvanamalai, we will also visit the majestic Anamalai Temple, the temple that is built into the mountain and where Shiva is very much present. (g) We shall conclude our pilgrimage at the eminent Shiva vortex at Kalahasti. As the legend goes, Sri Kalahasthi is a unique temple where Shiva appears with five faces signifying the five elements earth, water, fire, sky and air. Past saints have proclaimed that merely one visit to this temple is adequate for an aspiring devotee to attain salvation and free himself from the cycles of births and deaths. Offering prayers at this temple will enable one to overcome all malefic effects of the two serpentine planets Rahu and Kethu.. The cow is a sacred form of Goddess Lakshmi and the cow pooja is one of the most ancient and powerful rituals to invoke the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi to shower us with wealth.
