February 2017 Small Groups Start: February 7 End: February 28 01 GROUP 1: EPHESIANS 5 WIFE SUBMITTING TO YOUR HUSBAND Group Description: Do you have a happy marriage? Are you believing God for a happy marriage? If so, the Ephesians 5 Wife: Submitting to Your Husband small group is just for you. In our time, marriages, especially Christian Marriages, are succumbing to satan s attacks at an alarming rate. However, be not dismayed, we win! God has given us a very clear instruction manual on how to ensure that we have a happy marriage the Bible! Come and get equipped to be the wife God wants you to be, and you will see how doing marriage God s way will result in a happy, fulfilling marriage. Facilitator: Sis. Shante Martin and First Lady Rogers Target Audience: Married Women GROUP 2: LOVING YOUR SWEET WIFE MARRIED MAN S GROUP When you got married, you entered into a covenant relationship with your wife, committing to love, honor and cherish her. Loving Your Sweet Wife small group takes husbands deeper into knowing what it means to be a Christ-like husband and knowing what God expects from you. When we fail to sacrificially love our wife, as Christ loved the Church (Eph 5:25), our marriage will be compromised. The college campus is a world of different worldviews and immorality, and often causes Christians to feel out of place. This small group is designed to provide students with a wealth of Biblical knowledge and tools on how to remain a Christian while in college. You will learn how to be counter culture and live out the in the world, but not of the world mandate as recorded in John 17:14-19. Facilitator: Minister Sekou Reece Target Audience: College Students GROUP 4: PATHWAY TO COLLEGE For many youth, graduation is quickly approaching. Now is the time to start thinking about a list of good priorities for your college experience, preparing for the S.A.T, narrowing your college choices, visiting colleges, beginning your scholarship search, applying for admission etc Whether you re a student or parent, a few years away from college or just about to start, this small group is designed to get you jump-started with college prep. March 2017 Small Groups Start: March 2 End: March 28 02 GROUP 1: APOLOGETICS: EVANGELIZING THE MUSLIM, JEHOVAH WITNESS AND ATHEIST In a world filled with many belief systems and ideologies, it is important that Christians know how to defend and share our Faith. This small group will explore the religions of Islam, Jehovah Witness and Atheism and how they conflict with the Gospel. You will receive biblical tools to help you defend the Christian faith and evangelize others out of these godless belief systems. Facilitator: Elder Glenn Rogers Target Audience: Anyone GROUP 2: I M A TEENAGER WHO LOVES GOD (HOW TO NOT BE A STATISTIC) The most important opinion you will develop over these adolescent years is what you believe regarding God, His Word and His plan for your life. This small group is designed to help you discover your worth in Christ and in turn, love Him more than anything. When you have this confidence, you will have the ability to avoid living a destructive life and becoming a statistic. Facilitator: Minister Sekou Reece Target Audience: Teens GROUP 3: BIBLE STORY TIME FOR CHILDREN Teaching children the Word of God is the only way to prepare them to be successful in this world. God, in His amazing wisdom, has given children the capacity to receive and understand spiritual truths from an early age and to us, He has given the responsibility to teach them (Proverbs 22:6). Storytelling is the language that children are able to process in and is the vehicle by which this small group will teach them the Bible. This small group is designed to partner with parents in the indoctrination of Christian principles to children. Facilitator: First Lady Stephanie Rogers Target Audience: Children (4ys 5ys) Time: Saturday (March 4, 11, 18, 25) 10:00am 11:30am GROUP 4: I M A SINGLE IN CONTROL Self-control is an important Christian virtue and its exercise is one of the most difficult things you can learn to do. Difficult, though not impossible, it is a multifaceted virtue that includes control over your behavior and the emotions associated with your behavior. This small group is designed to provide single Christians with the biblical tools necessary to be a single in control. Everything from, living a moral life, spending time with God, self-care, etc will be explored. Facilitator: Sister Rhonda Reece Target Audience: Singles

April 2017 Small Groups Start: April 4 End: April 25 03 GROUP 1: SMALL BUSINESS SUCCESS According to the Small Business Administration (SBA), small businesses provide the majority of jobs in the United States at 55%. It would make sense that Christians should represent the percentage of small businesses experiencing success. In this small group, you will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of business systems that will help poise your business to grow. As an added incentive, you will learn Kingdom Principles that will give your business a supernatural edge to prosper. Facilitator: Pastor Rogers Target Audience: Small Business Owners or Those Aspiring to Own a Business GROUP 2: WHEEL OF FORTUNE CHILDREN S FINANCIAL SUCCESS Habits are established within the early years of development. How we view time, health, relationships and finances are instilled at an early age. This small group is designed to teach children how to apply financial principles from God s Word. Children will gain foundational knowledge of money, as well as principles of tithing, offering giving and saving and overall, money management. Facilitator: Sister Pamela White Target Audience: Children Ages 6-10 This small group will provide attendees with the necessary tools and techniques on creating a professional resume and cover letter, in addition to properly preparing for a successful interview. We will cover topics that will include compilation of your personal resume, what information should or should not be included; in addition to creating a professional portfolio. You will be given practical tips for proper interview preparation and have the opportunity to participate in a one on one mock interview session. Constructive feedback will be given to ensure that we are well equipped to reach our God given potential in the marketplace. GROUP 3: CAREER& RESUME WRITING Facilitator: Sister Lori Watkins Target Audience: Anyone

May 2017 Small Groups Start: May 2 End: May 23 04 Child rearing is a great challenge, but also, a great privilege, and it takes a great deal of wisdom to be successful in it. This small group will focus on God s principles for raising our children as outlined in the Bible. Whether your children are young or older, wayward or well behaved, you will discover the Biblical principles needed to raise godly children and practical points on how you can implement these principles. GROUP 1: PARENTING: RAISING GODLY CHILDREN Facilitator: Pastor & First Lady Rogers Target Audience: Parents GROUP 2: HOME BUYING It is God s will for His people to prosper and that includes, owning a home. This small group is an introductory seminar on the ABC s of home ownership and designed to educate homebuyers on the entire home buying process. Some of the topics covered are credit worthiness, affordability, making and negotiating an offer, choosing the right mortgage, closing and beyond. Whether you are purchasing for the first time, entering the market again or interested in refinancing, this small group is for you. Facilitators: Sister Candace Houston and Sister Pamela White (Kingdom Real Estate) Target Audience: First and Second Time Home buyers

June 2017 Small Groups 05 Start: June 3 End: June 24 GROUP 1: WOMEN S TEAM SPORTS It s summer time and time to get moving and engaged in some fun, interactive, sports activities that will accommodate all fitness levels! This small group will consist of a 10 minute devotional, followed by a range of sport activities from volleyball to kickball and other interactive sports designed to promote a healthy spiritual and physical lifestyle. Facilitators: Sisters Shante Martin and Kristen Lyons Target Audience: Women GROUP 2: MEN S FITNESS It s time to get fit for the summer and stay fit! This small group is designed for men and will consist of a 10 minute devotional, followed by a 30-45 minute fitness regimen that includes cardio and weight lifting. Facilitators: Brothers Antoine Martin and David Roberts Target Audience: Men GROUP 3: THE GREAT OUTDOORS YOUTH FUN School s out, it s hot and a great time to be outdoors! Summer time is that season where being outside is one of the most fun things to do. This small group will consist of a 10 minute devotional followed by kickball, tag, basketball, ice cream, lunch and other fun outdoor activities! Facilitators: Youth Ministry Target Audience: Youth

September 2017 Small Groups GROUP 1: INVESTING Deuteronomy 8:18 says God has given us power to get wealth that we may establish His covenant. Investing is a wonderful opportunity to allow your money to work for you, as opposed to you working for your money. This small group is designed to provide learning tips and strategies on investing in the stock market. We were called to be wealthy so that we can further and advance the Kingdom agenda. Facilitator: Deacon Melvin Branham Target Audience: Anyone GROUP 2: STAYING SAVED IN COLLEGE Surviving the Faith Challenge is not impossible. God s Word declares that He is a God that heals all our diseases (Psalm 103). It was always God s plan and design for His people to be in good health. Within this small group, attendees will have the opportunity to both learn how to be healed and how to walk someone else through to their healing, learn how to experience the anointing to overcome any sickness or disease and explore the spiritual/practical steps needed to both receive healing and maintain it. Facilitator: Pastor Rogers Target Audience: Anyone Start: September 5 06 End: September 26

October 2017 Small Groups Start: October 10 End: October 31 07 GROUP 1: PUBLIC SPEAKING One of the most predominant fears people of all religions, races, ages, gender and socioeconomic statuses have is, public speaking. However, to live out our church s mission of promoting the agenda of Jesus Christ and to live out our Christian responsibility recorded in Matthew 28, we must be ready and willing to speak publicly. This small group is designed to provide attendees with insight on the specific mechanics involved in speaking publicly and the explicit tips on how to effectively communicate when speaking publicly. Facilitator: Sister Shante Martin Target Audience: Anyone GROUP 2: SHARING THE CHRISTIAN FAITH Winning souls is at the very heart of God s call to the church (Matthew 28:19 20) and a church without a focus of evangelism is a church out of focus. This small group will encourage you to passionately evangelize and provide you with innovative and creative methods of how to share our Faith effectively. Facilitator: Elder Glenn Rogers Target Audience: Anyone

November 2017 Small Groups Start: November 7 End: November 28 08 GROUP 1: SUBSTANCE RECOVERY Recovery is a process that seeks to restore what sin has taken away. No matter who you are or where you have been, you can experience freedom and become the person God designed you to be, through Christ. This small group is designed for those struggling with the grip of substance addiction and designed to get you on the road to recovery so that you will experience the amazing delivering power of Jesus Christ. **Disclaimer: This recovery group is not the same as a clinical group therapy session, nor the substitute for professional treatment provided by a clinically trained and licensed provider. This is a support group.** Facilitator: Deacon Melvin Branham Target Audience: Anyone GROUP 2: ESSENTIAL DISHES One of the most exciting elements of the holiday season is the opportunity to eat rich and tasty dishes. This fourweek seminar will focus on how to prepare some of those meals. Cooking demonstrations and simple recipes will be shared in order to give the participant the opportunity to practice within their own domain. This small group is a great opportunity to learn and refine one s cooking skill set. Facilitator: Sister. Maria Waddell Target Audience: Adults GROUP 3: ME AND MY EMOTIONS As a teenager, emotions are sometimes flooded with lots of ups and downs. The reality is, being a youth in today s culture is not easy and presents constant challenges towards remaining satisfied and even happy. This group will give youth the opportunity to express themselves in a supportive environment, while also teaching them skills towards healthy emotional management. Tools will be explored of how to maintain godly emotions at all times. Facilitator: Minister Sekou Reece Target: Teenagers

SMALL GROUPS FACILITATOR BIOS Gabriel Rogers, PhD is the founder and pastor of Kingdom Christian Church located in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is happily married to his wife, Stephanie, for 10 years and to their blessed union are four wonderful children, 3 boys and 1 girl. Dr. Rogers earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration and received both a M.A. and Ph.D in Counseling. He formerly served as Clinical Coordinator for one of the nation s largest healthcare systems and was the former Vice Chair of the NC Board of LPC. Currently he owns and operates The Angel Gabriel Company, a Christian counseling center, serving individuals and families. He is also a licensed real estate broker and the owner of Kingdom Real Estate, a Charlotte based real estate firm. He esteems his greatest accomplishment as the day he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Stephanie Rogers, BA is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina and happily married to Dr. Gabriel Rogers for 10 years. She holds a B.A. in Child & Family Development and the Birth-Kindergarten Teaching Certification Licensure. She considers supporting her husband in ministry and raising their 4 amazing children her primary and most fulfilling purpose in life. She loves her LORD, Jesus Christ, with all her heart. Melvin Branham, MBA is happily married to his loving wife, and has three wonderful boys. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in 2009 and is now devoted to serving the Lord. He humbly serves as the Church Treasurer. In the secular world, he has an MBA, over 20 years of Accounting experience and currently serves as a Division Controller with one of the nation s largest homebuilders. Brother Melvin has been a member of Kingdom Christian Church since its inception in 2010. Candace Houston, BS is a licensed real estate broker with Kingdom Real Estate with more than 6 years of experience in residential transactions, specializing in the sale of new and existing homes in the Charlotte Metropolitan area. She holds a B.S. in Management. She is a skilled negotiator that provides an excellent customer experience in every interaction. She is knowledgeable, hard-working, and has her client s best interest at heart. She looks forward to making her client s dream of becoming a homeowner a reality! Sister Candace has been a member of Kingdom Christian Church since 2011. Kristen Lyon, MA is a former Division 1 athlete. She was a participant of Western Carolina University Women s Basketball team from 2010 2014, serving as team captain her senior year. Since playing, she has engaged her passion of sports and fitness through personal training. She holds a B.A in Psychology and M.S in Counseling. Sister Kristen has been a member of Kingdom Christian Church since 2014. Antoine D. Martin is blessed to be happily married to his sweet wife for 14 years and to be a father. He was a Crew Chief for the fire department while serving in the United States Air Force, and it was there that he developed a passion for physical fitness. He contracted with FedEx Ground, both as an independent contractor and as owner of A&J s Delivery Service, Inc. God has now blessed him to be the proud owner of a logistics company Kingdom Logistic, LLC. Brother Antoine has been a member of Kingdom Christian Church since 2013. Q. Shante Martin, JD has been blessed to be happily married for 14 years and to be a mother. God has blessed her to practice law for 15 years, teach a doctoral course for 5 years, and support her husband in establishing and running two successful businesses. Throughout her professional career, she has argued appellate cases before various federal and state courts and frequently provided training to groups of over 200 people. Sister Shante has been a member of Kingdom Christian Church since 2013.

Rhonda Reece was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. She is passionate about seeing others grow and develop in their relationship with the LORD. Her love for the LORD is not only a way of life, but is what drives her to live a life that is pleasing in the sight of the LORD. She has been an Administrative Support Assistant with a local government agency for 11 years. She has been happily married to for 15 years and is blessed with a son. Sister Rhonda has been a member of Kingdom Christian Church since 2010. Sekou Reece was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. It was throughout his teenage and young adult journey that he became aware of his true need for a submitted love relationship with Jesus Christ. Shortly thereafter, he surrendered to the Gospel call and discovered his calling in the process. His passion is to see young people live a successful, surrendered life to Christ. He has been happily married to his lovely wife for 15 years and they are blessed with a son. Brother Sekou has been a member of Kingdom Christian Church since 2010. David Roberts is a W.I.T.S certified personal trainer, a full-time IT network administrator for a local business and the owner of Samson Fitness, LLC. He has a solid foundation as a personal trainer, and strength and conditioning coach, using science, technology and good old-fashioned hard work, to achieve any sports or fitness related goal. He is happily married and has two sons and one daughter. Bro. Dave has been a member of Kingdom Christian Church since 2014. Glenn Rogers was born and raised in Middletown, Connecticut. He has served in the ministry for several years, helping to lead people to Christ and assisting with discipleship services and evangelistic outreach efforts. He is currently a Billing and Support Supervisor for one of the area s top hospital systems. He has been happily married to his lovely wife and they are blessed with a son and daughter. Brother Glenn has been a member of Kingdom Christian Church since 2013. Maria Waddell, BS is the founder of M & W s Catering, Charlotte s premier soul food catering company. She brings over 20 years of culinary experience. Prior to moving to Charlotte, she served as a lead teacher within a private Christian school, while also facilitating all dietary plans for children and adults. She is credited with maintaining one of the cleanest commercial kitchens in the county at that time. She holds a B.S degree in Child and Family Development and is loved by children. She has an infectious smile and her food always surpasses the highest expectation of any consumer privilege to partake. Sister Maria has been a member of Kingdom Christian Church since 2014. Lori Watkins, CPC, CEMC, BS has over 20 years of distinguished management experience in both the business and healthcare sector. She is currently a Physician Auditor/Educator for one of the nation s top hospital systems. Lori is well respected among her peers and leadership for her outstanding managerial knowledge, professionalism, and strong ability to mentor others. She holds a B.S. degree in Healthcare Administration, in addition to dual medical coding certifications. She is happily married with 2 children. Sister Lori has been a member of Kingdom Christian Church since its inception in 2010. Pamela White, MA brings a wealth of knowledge and experience working with youth. She completed the Crown Financial course and later became an instructor. She has a M.S Degree in Urban and Regional Planning and is a licensed Real Estate Broker with Kingdom Real Estate. She is happily married and has two daughters. Sister Pam has been a member of Kingdom Christian Church since 2011.
