Crystals can be used to help cleanse, purify and protect a person, space or object. There are any number of places to use and put crystals, such as: in your pocket in your pouch in your car in your healing space in or around your bath under your pillow beside or under your bed worn as jewellery Some crystals help with protecting and cleansing an environment while others help with protecting and cleansing the body. When using crystals keep in mind they need regular cleansing as they pick up and absorb negative energies, toxins, etc. from their environment. As said previously, crystals can be worn or placed in a pocket, purse or pouch. But what about your home, office or healing space? Crystals can be placed close to where you spend a lot of your time, i.e., on a side or coffee table in the living room, beside your bed, etc. To make them even more powerful, place Quartz points around a larger crystal pointing toward it. The energy is directed through the termination at the end of the point towards the crystal in the middle amplifying its energy further. This is called a crystal grid or mandala. Grids are places of power where you make a clear intention and arrange crystals in a geometric pattern (most commonly a circle or using a flower of life base) to amplify that intention. They can be any size, from very small up to a room or whole house. All types of crystals can be used specific to the intention. To grid a room or space, place Quartz points in each corner pointing into the center of the room where you have a larger sphere or cluster. This keeps the energy moving and continually refreshing. Smaller grids can be made around the room or home for specific purposes and intentions. When we talk about protection, we are meaning our own energy, etheric, spiritual intuitive and even physical. Sometimes our energy can be highjacked by others or outside energy can invade our own making us feel off or not ourselves. Protection crystals put an invisible shield around us that repels any energy that is not for our highest good. The following is a list of some of the more powerful crystals you can use for cleansing and protection. Black Obsidian A protective and detoxifying crystal, Black Obsidian works quickly to cleanse negativity. It also helps to break self sabotaging patterns and cleans the slate so we can start anew. Black Amethyst A powerful environmental cleanser, Black Amethyst soaks up all the negative energy and debris floating around. A very good crystal for any space that has a lot of negative energy. Very beneficial for practitioners to use in their healing space or placed under the table while doing a session. Place beside the bed when someone is very ill. a few minutes. Depending on the environment, it may need to be cleansed every day. Black Kyanite Black Kyanite clears negativity from a space it resides in. Place pieces around a property to keep the whole are protected. Kyanite never needs cleansing. Black Tourmaline Not only is Black Tourmaline a powerful crystal to use for protection, it is also a powerful cleanser and purifier. It also protects against psychic attack and absorbs electromagnetic rays. This is one of the stones that everyone should have! Chrysoprase Chrysoprase gives off a very spring-like energy, making everything feel squeaky clean! Kunzite A crystal of unconditional love, Kunzite shields the aura from unwanted energies and helps with individual and environmental protection. Labradorite Labradorite deflects unwanted energy, protects and helps to let go of fear. Great to wear when doing healing sessions to protect you from any energies being released by the client. Lodestone Lodestone, or Magnesite, is naturally magnetic and helps by putting a shield of protective energy around you or an object. Put a piece at each corner of the bed for a restful sleep; or at the corners of a healing table to protect the client. Quartz Clear Quartz is a clearing, cleansing, healing and energizing crystal. It activates and enhances other crystals placed with it. To keep the energy in your space clear and refreshed, place Quartz crystal points in each corner of the room facing into the middle. To make it stronger, also place a Quartz sphere or cluster in the center of the room. Shungite Shungite is one of the more powerful stones for detoxifying and cleansing the body. Soul Food Crystals is a lovely new age/metaphysical shop in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, which has been serving the community since 1999. We started out mainly as a book store with some music, tarot, a few crystals and jewellery. Since then we have grown our crystal portion of the shop immensely over the years, we are now mainly a crystal shop. Still offered are a good selection of books and music, one of the largest selections of Tarot/ Oracle cards and crystal jewellery in Calgary, sage/smudge/incense, locally made smudging feathers, statuary and singing bowls. All staff members have a working knowledge of crystals, using them in their everyday practices. Each of our crystals have been hand chosen for their beauty and healing energy. They are wonderfully displayed to their best advantage and personality in antique cabinets. They lovingly reside with us while awaiting their new homes. Linda has owned and operated Soul Food Crystals and Books since 2006. She has been using and working with crystals since 1996 as well as doing readings and teaching palmistry, intuitive tarot, tea leaves and beginner to advanced crystal classes.
