Axum civilization coincided with the Nubian civilization in Sudan and played a role in undermining it as Ghizia army conquered the Kingdom of Nuba from the south, whose remains are still existent. Jaalien tribe, who have Ethiopian origins still inhabit those areas and exported the names of towns they came from such as Matama, Shendi and Um-Atuor, in addition to costumes, food and arts, which are clear evidence of historical influence apart from Jaalien tribes embracing of Islam. Other cultural feature almost are the same ranging from the Sudanese traditional bread kisra which is also found in Ethiopian in addition to common forms of music. The only difference is that Jaalien tribes are not peasants or farmers unlike other Nilotic tribes because they descended from the Ethiopian Heights, where there is no other activity but herding animal, nomadic life and trading. It is very difficult to tell Ethiopians and Jaalein apart in terms of looks, despite the latter are similar to the inhabitants of the Arab Peninsula, to which they have nothing in common but Islam. Many African studies showed that the regions of east Africa belong to Ethiopian Height not in terms of looks but in terms of common rituals and dance. H.G. Anderson, a researcher, supported such studies by samples from the Sudanese regions of Shendi. The Sudanese researchers have to explore evident common features between these tribes. As a result of the great link between the peoples of the two countries, President Al-Bashir and a number of civil society organizations participated in the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of draft constitution, during which President Al-Bashir addressed the celebration which was held in Asosa the capital of the Ethiopian region of Beni Shengol. He called for the necessity for African countries to cooperate for the sake of the prosperity of their people. He said Sudan is keen to enhance these relations and develop in the interest of the peoples of the two countries, and Africa as whole, commending constitutional development and federalism in Ethiopia, which granted the people their rights, expectations for freedom, equality and development. Al-Bashir tackled the Renaissance Dam and described it as pride for Africa, adding that Sudan showed a life example of cooperation with Ethiopia in many economic and developmental projects, most importantly the Electricity Linkage Project. He praised the Ethiopian leadership represented in Melees Zenawi and Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn for their strenuous efforts to achieve the expectations of Africans. For his part, the Ethiopian Prime Minister hailed development of Sudanese Ethiopian relations, praising President s Al-Bashir s participation in this occasion, which he said is gracious for Africans, citing the sacrifices of the Ethiopian over the past decades, which culminated in achieving peace, constitution and federal rule, which he said acknowledged justice and human rights and set the beginning for development across the regions of Ethiopia. GALLERIES» In his speech before the celebrations of the 20th anniversary for adopting constitution and the federal rule, he said that they were precisely calculating their steps in order to boost peace, stability and development, hailing his predecessor Zenawi, who he said laid the corner stone for the Renaissance Dam.
