NOV. 1, 2016 RICHLAND HILLS CHRISTIAN CHURCH THE CHURCH VISITOR Cast Iron Cookout 2016 @ Bethany Chris6an Church If you are looking for something different to do this Saturday and like to eat, then make a trip east toward Bethany Christian Church in east Dallas. Pastor Lisa and Pastor Paul will be doing some work there in the morning, but of course, they will be stopping to enjoy this wonderful FREE lunch on the beautiful lawn around the church. So, let s take some time to go and support a sister church. We ll meet there around 12 for lunch. Bethany Christian Church is located at 6282 Oram Street, Dallas, TX. Right Now Conference - 2016 I will be attending the Right Now Conference on Thursday and Friday morning in Dallas and will be out of the office. Many of you received invitations. If you have time, I hope you signed up. It s a great opportunity to learn and grow through this great ministry. Combined Sunday School Class on Prayer With nearly 40 in attendance and a great breakfast cooked by the men from Holy Smokes BBQ, it was a great class on Sunday morning. Using a segment from Vertical Church, by James McDonald, we looked at the power of prayer and its ability to change everything. Thanks to Christian Ed for putting this class together for us! Each Sunday we gather for prayer in the Sanctuary from 8:45 to 9:15. Don t make excuses why you can t make it. Find reasons why you can: such as God loves you and wants you to pray to Him. A praying church is one that sees God s Spirit move in and seeks to change the world. Church with significant prayer ministries often see the activity of God all around them. FALL FESTIVAL 2016 1st place winner for Trunk - or - Treat goes to: Monica Wililams First of all, thanks to Rachel, Terri, Leah and Holy Smokes for all the work they put in to organizing our first Fall Festival! It s the first we have had in several years, and it was a great success! Thanks to so many who supported us through prayers, donations, and volunteering. Of course, it s about WE, isn t it? As Church we do the best things when we do it as WE! We reached into our community and invited them to come find the great church that is right in their neighborhood. I m sure for many that came, it was the first time they had even been on our campus. Next year WE will make it even bigger and better! With each event we learn and grow, in all we do, we do it for the Glory of God. NOTE FROM OUR YOUTH: With all of your support, we were able to raise over $300 for the youth! --Pastor Paul

Cup of Joe The Keurig machine in the Gathering Area is in need of some K-Cups for Sunday each week. While you are out shopping, please pick up a box to share with others. Also, we put out some of the small flavored creamers a few weeks ago, and they lasted only two Sundays. So if you enjoy those, bring a few boxes of those as well. As the weather gets cooler, so does the coffee consumption. A big thank you goes to Doug Fulk for preparing our brewed coffee every week. Thank You Note: We just wanted to thank our church family for all the support and love you showed us during Betty s illness and her recent passing. Your prayers and kind words meant to much to her and to us. Richland Hills Christian Church has been a huge part of our family s life, and we just wanted you to know that it has been so meaningful to us to have such a close church family all these years. Thank you, again, for all you have done for us! We love you! --Charles Lee and Family Want a Better Marriage? Did you know we provide serveral resources to enrich your marriage? One of the places you may be able to find help in finding more meaning and depth to your marriage is RightNow Media. It has several video based series that may be just what is needed to help your marriage flourish in new ways. Also, we have purchased several books about marriage that can be found on the tables near the Gathering Area as we enter and exit the Sanctuary. It s Time to Order Christmas Poinsettias! A Group of our Choir members attended Oliver at the Granbury Opera House (Charles Mason - Mr. Sowerby) It s time to order poinsettias for the Advent Season. We will be ordering from Calloway s Nursery again this year. You have a choice of silk or live poinsettias for the price of $10 each. The order form will be inside your bulletin each Sunday. If you have unable to attend church, but would love to purchase a poinsettia, please call the church office. Laura will fill out the form for you.
