TODAY: A Though Question 10 Questions About Eternity A Tough Message A Tough Day... SET UP 2 CHAIRS ON STAGE There is a Day Set Aside for JUDGMENT READ ALL 4 WITHOUT STOP [ 2 Peter 2.9 NKJV ] then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment [ 2 Peter 3.7 NKJV ] But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition (means eternal judgement) of ungodly men. [ Matthew 12.36 NKJV ] But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. [ Hebrews 9.27 NKJV ] And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, - Is there a Judgement Day coming??... ABSOLUTELY! - Will EVERYONE be Judged??... YES - Believers & Unbelievers At both judgements our WORKS will be Judged...BUT WORKS DO NOT SAVE US!
But BELIEVERS Works will be judged... READ ALL 5 VERSES WITHOUT STOP 2 [ Ecclesiastes 12.14 NKJV ] For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil. [ Revelations 20.13 NKJV ] The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. [ 1 Peter 1.17 NKJV ] And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear (or reverence) [ Matthew 16.27 NKJV ] For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works. [ Revelations 22.12 NKJV ] And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.... I am an EACH / YOU are an EACH / We are EVERY each of us will be Judge for what we do Are we SAVED by WORKS?? NO! [ Ephesians 2.8-9 NKJV ] For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. HOW DO WE EXPLAIN... Saved by GRACE, but Judged by WORKS??
...Through 2 Words - BELIEF / BEHAVIOR - Our BELIEF (alone) determines Where we spend eternity - Our BEHAVIOR determines How we spend eternity... Repeat 3 - In HEAVEN we are going to be REWARDED for our works - In HELL people are going to be PUNISHED by their works...where you go is Dependent on whether your BELIEF in Jesus THERE ARE 2 JUDGEMENTS 1. The Judgement Seat of Christ 2. The Great White Throne of Judgement - Judgement Seat of Christ (Bema Seat)... / Every person there is a Believer - Great White Throne... / Every person is an UN-Believer Your BELIEF will determined what judgement you will attend At Both Judgements people s BEHAVIOR will be Judged IT MATTERS HOW YOU LIVE!! IT MATTERS WHAT YOU DO HERE ON EARTH - According to Bible, Your BELIEF will alter your behavior - Holy Spirit gives the Desire and Power to want to serve God Let s talk about these 2 Judgements...
4 We are not saved by Works BUT... Works do matter Here is the FIRST Judgement: Move Chair #1 THE JUDGEMENT SEAT OF CHRIST Written to believers... [ 2 Corinthians 5.10 NKJV ] For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. [ Romans 14.10 NKJV ] But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. All Believers [ 1 Corinthians 3.10-15 NKJV ] According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. 11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. ( Once we are saved (BELIEF), everything we do in life (BEHAVIOR) is building on our salvation ) 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one s work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. ( We are going to be rewarded for our works) 15 If anyone s work is burned, he will suffer loss; ( He s going to lose his reward) but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. - Notice couple of things... - You can be BELIEVER and build with WOOD, HAY, STRAW - You can be BELIEVER and build with GOLD, SILVER, PRECIOUS STONES - You can be BELIEVER and do WORKS that will last forever & be rewarded for - You can also be BELIEVER do Temporal things and NOT be rewarded OR... - You can do something ETERNAL but because of the WAY YOU DO IT... lose your reward for it
Here is what Jesus said NOT talking HEAVEN here... REWADS 5 [ Matthew 6.1-5 NKJV ] Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. ( Lose reward) 2 Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 3 But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly. - You can do something good and lose God s reward for it... already received it - The FATHER HIMSELF... will Reward you!!! - PERSONALLY... not as a group! - We re going to meet the FATHER personally - AND He is going to REWARD you!!!!!! Well done, good and faithful servant [ 1 John 2.28 NKJV ] And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. - Some will be Ashamed - Because they WASTED their life... - They believed... BUT didn t Serve Him, Love - Didn t give their lives... and now it OVER! - We will have position of authority... - Good steward will be ruler over 10 cities - Another will have 5 [ Matthew 6.19-20 NKJV ] Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
6 How you handle responsibility on earth will determine how much you ll have in Heaven I wonder how many believers will get to Heaven... and not have many rewards?? Or responsibilities?? Will a Believer who DOESN T: - Tithe / Give Generously / Serve / Witness Get same reward as Believer who does?? God is a Just God!!! Move Chair #2 THE GREAT WHITE THRONE OF JUDGEMENT [ Revelation 20.11-13 NKJV ] Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. ( If you re believer... your name is in the BOOK / In the books are our BEHAVIORS ) And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. I asked a Question: - Will a Believer who doesn t do many good works receive same reward... - Will a UNBELIEVER who lived a good life (but won t receive Jesus) receive same Punishment as a Rapist?? - NO... There are Different degrees of Punishment God is a Just God!!!
Jesus speaking 7 [ Matthew 11.21- NKJV ] Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. 22 But I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you. 23 And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. 24 But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you. - What was happening in those cities... Chorazin / Bethsaida / Capernaum?...Jesus was doing miracles and preaching - More tolerable... or Less tolerable - Jesus said to STORE UP TREASURERS for yourselves... - Is it possible to STORE up JUDGEMENT??? [ Romans 2.5 NKJV ] But in accordance ( or SAME DEGREE) with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God Hard Message: - I feel like a Doctor simple telling you facts... You have this disease and will die... if you don t take the cure Good New, WE HAVE THE CURE!!! I m a Christian so I don t need to be hearing this... Then let the first part motivate you to store up Treasures and let this part motivate you to warn others of the coming WRATH!!

BUT ONLY while you re alive on this earth! [ Hebrews 9.27b NKJV ] it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment I beg you to accept Jesus as your Savior... - We ve all sinned - But Jesus offers a FREE GIFT - Give control of your life to Jesus... God will give you new desires!!!
