Day 15 - Introducing Kundalini Online Meditation Practices for Total Well-Being Today I want to bring to your attention that energy that lies within us that we tap into. This intelligent energy operates from, and is associated with, the Infinite Consciousness. In yogic terms we may call that the Shiva-Shakti relationship, Consciousness-Energy relationship: Shiva/Consciousness, Shakti/Energy. So we are Conscious Being having a relationship with all the energies around us. At the root of the spine in the perineum area we have an energy centre there that we call the Muladhara chakra - root support. There we feel strongly connected to the earth as we become more conscious of our subtle being. That is where the source of Infinite Energy lies in a sleeping mode. In a sleeping mode there is only partial or limited consciousness. When this energy wakes up from its sleep at the base of the spine, that energy is called Kundalini. When it s activated, it begins an ascent along that central nadi called sushumna nadi. And it begins an ascent along that channel to various energy experiences, opening up the consciousness. So there is a natural movement of energy from the root through an evolutionary drive up the spinal column and that s what we begin to experience in our meditation and in our spiritual discipline as we focus on these energy centres and the prana that we experience there. At the very root of the spine in that Muladhara area there is Infinite Energy that is associated
with Infinite Consciousness. So what this means is that crown and root have a deep relationship. Infinite Consciousness at the crown; Infinite Energy at the root. They are in a powerful relationship. And through this evolutionary drive this energy begins to move up the column in order to unite with that Infinite Consciousness. That s when this I that we have begins to wake up (as it were) as this energy moves. She s like a Mother energy. We begin to feel more and more conscious as this energy moves. And when She comes into the crown and She merges there, we become what we call cosmic conscious ; we feel merged into this Infinite Consciousness that lies within us. We call that the enlightened state. And of course that s the state of ultimate wellness and well-being. This I, this ego that is in this evolutionary process of expansion of consciousness, can work in alignment with that Infinite Energy inside that is striving to manifest in fullness and to merge back into that Infinite Consciousness. Our I is in a play of that energy moving. So when we think that we are seeking and we are the seeker, the truth is that Infinite Energy is the seeker; it s driving our seeking consciousness, but we ascribe seeking to us. It is the evolutionary power that is driving us to seek. In the meditation we come to these centres and we give attention to that evolutionary power that is behind the centre, seeking to push open the centre. When we align to that drive we ll begin to feel that co-creative power in us. So we are feeling accompanied by that Power; we are carried by that Power. The greatest experiences of meditation are where we feel carried in all the things we do. If we are breathing, we feel that we are breathing in that Power and with that Power. That s the co-creative mode. The goal would be to look for that Power in its evolutionary drive working within you and to observe it. And when you can feel it there, then your meditation is going to be super exciting. She s the power behind our seeking; She s the power behind our consciousness expansion; She s the power behind all the pranas that are moving; and She is seeking to open up the consciousness to unite completely with the Divine. So what is going to happen eventually is that we are going to feel more and more of our identity in Her until we begin to feel that we are Her, which in truth we are. We are Divine. We
are that Power. But working in separation from Her we feel alone. We feel that no one is helping us. That s absolutely not true. When She s sleeping completely and we are fully in body consciousness, we feel alone. Our ego of the body consciousness dominates, but in spiritual awakening we feel the presence of another power in the spiritual awakening. So the goal would be to align with that Power; to unite with that Power in the meditation. Let s give attention to that evolutionary power of Kundalini today. Kundal means coiled. And Kundalini means that coiled energy in us, that sleeping energy which, when awakened, begins an evolutionary drive within us, pushing us to seek and to expand the consciousness. So are you the seeker or is Kundalini behind the seeking?
Contemplation A guide for your personal reflections and self inquiry Introducing Kundalini The goal is to open up the awareness so that we may become more curious about what may be happening in the meditation at every aspect of being. Physical Being Did I have a greater awareness of my physical body? Was it relaxed or was there tension in any area? Was the breath slow? Was it even and flowing? Continued.
Contemplation A guide for your personal reflections and self inquiry Kundalini contd Mental Being Was my mind peaceful or preoccupied? What kind of thoughts came in the mind? Was I able to use the intellect help quiet the mind? Emotional Being What kind of emotions came into the space? Fear, anxiety, love... Did I feel uplifted? Continued.
