The students will spend at least 8 days working on a project in a school in Zambia which will include teaching and construction work. The cost of the expedition is over 2300 and students are required to undertake fundraising activities to contribute towards the cost. David has secured a part time job to help raise money but is also fundraising through sales at school and activities at church. All monies raised through the quiz will go to David s fund Please come along and enjoy ourselves and encourage our youth in their charitable ventures Partnership Matters The latest edition of the bi-monthly Partnership Matters news update is now available on the front page of the diocesan website (www.rcdhn.org.uk). Prayers etc. Partnership Parish Prayer: God of all Creation, You have constantly poured out your Spirit upon our Diocese and kindled here a light which has spread throughout the world. Lord Jesus, you gathered disciples to yourself to learn from you and to model their lives on you. Your Holy Spirit empowered them to continue your work in the world. Come upon us, Holy Spirit, deepen the faith you invite us to share and inspire us to become faithful witnesses. As we begin to develop our partnerships, help each one of us to use the gifts you give us to nurture one another, to serve the world and to live in harmony with the whole of creation. All of this we ask in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Pope Francis Five Finger Prayer: Using the fingers on your hand, start with the thumb and pray these intentions in this order: 1.) The thumb is closest finger to you. So start praying for those who are closest to you. They are the persons easiest to remember. To pray for our dear ones is a "Sweet Obligation." 2.) The next finger is the index. Pray for those who teach you, instruct you and heal you. They need the support and wisdom to show direction to others. Always keep them in your prayers. 3.) The following finger is the tallest. It reminds us of our leaders, the government and those who have authority. They need God's guidance. 4.) The fourth finger is the ring finger. Even though it may surprise you, it is our weakest finger. It should remind us to pray for the weakest, the sick or those plagued by problems. They need your prayers. 5.) And finally we have our smallest finger, the smallest of all. Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. When you are done praying for the other four groups, you will be able to see your own needs but in the proper perspective, and also you will be able to pray for your own needs in a better way. We must restore hope to young people, help the old, be open to the future, spread love. Be poor among the poor. We need to include the excluded and preach peace. Pope Francis I dream of a church that is a mother and shepherdess. Pope Francis
