LESSON 1 What is the Bible? The Bible is a book with many books inside; it is a whole library of books. Some of the books in the Bible are listed here. See if you can find them in the Bible below! LESSON 2 Where did the Bible come from? The Bible began in the mind of God; Men learned God s thoughts from Him and wrote them down. Now, when men learned God s thoughts in order to write the Bible, they didn t have to crack a code. LESSON 3 How much of the Bible is the Word of God? All of the Bible came from God; every word and letter of the Bible is from Him. LESSON 4 What does the Bible teach? Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords; Since Jesus is King, each of us must believe that His words are the most important words in all the world. LESSON 5 What does the Bible teach? God loved the people of the world so much that He sent Jesus, the King, to die for the sins of the whole world. The Bible is split up into sections. Books are usually the largest sections. Books divide into chapters. Chapters divide into verses. For example, let s look at our memory verse. Book John 3 : 16 Chapter Verse Let s see how well you have learned! For every passage (or address ) below, draw a square around Book, Chapter, or Verse to show which part is circled. 1. LESSON 6 What does the Bible teach? We should love Jesus (the King) with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Part of a Bible page is copied below. Find and write the reference (address) that has the words all your heart. LESSON 7 Why did God give the Bible to me? So I could know His truth and be freed from the penalty of my sin. Can you help Tommy find his way to the Bible, so he can be freed from his burden of sin? You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. ~John 8:32
LESSON 8 Why did God give the Bible to me? Because reading the Bible teaches me to believe in Him and His words. Please find the missing words by looking up the passages (addresses) below in your Bible. You can ask your leader or other grownups for help. LESSON 9 How can I understand the Bible? God wants me to ask Him to help me understand. Without His help, I cannot understand the Bible. When we need help with our homework, we ask our teacher or parent. But when we need help to understand God s Word we ask Him. Color the word below to show how we ask God for help. LESSON 10 How can I remember the Bible s words? by first listening carefully to them and being ready to do what they say.
