The Bible is God s holy Word. God wants me to listen to it, believe it, remember it, and obey it!

LESSON 1 What is the Bible? The Bible is a book with many books inside; it is a whole library of books. Some of the books in the Bible are listed here. See if you can find them in the Bible below! LESSON 2 Where did the Bible come from? The Bible began in the mind of God; Men learned God s thoughts from Him and wrote them down. Now, when men learned God s thoughts in order to write the Bible, they didn t have to crack a code. LESSON 3 How much of the Bible is the Word of God? All of the Bible came from God; every word and letter of the Bible is from Him. Circle which parts of the Bible are from God: Creation Adam and Eve The Flood Ten Commandments 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 All of the Bible Christ died on the cross for our sins. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God. ~2 Timothy 3:16

LESSON 4 What does the Bible teach? Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords; Since Jesus is King, each of us must believe that His words are the most important words in all the world. Motto: The Bible is God s holy Word. God wants me to L to it. MISSING IN ACTION Oh no! Can you help find the missing word to our motto? All you have to do is: 1) Unscramble the words below and fill in the blanks (Hint: the words come from today s verse) 2) Use the circled letters to complete the motto. 1. L O R D RLDO 2. NKIG 3. LESSON 5 What does the Bible teach? God loved the people of the world so much that He sent Jesus, the King, to die for the sins of the whole world. The Bible is split up into sections. Books are usually the largest sections. Books divide into chapters. Chapters divide into verses. For example, let s look at our memory verse. Book John 3 : 16 Chapter Verse Let s see how well you have learned! For every passage (or address ) below, draw a square around Book, Chapter, or Verse to show which part is circled. 1. Psalm 19:14 Book Chapter Verse 2. John 6:4 Book Chapter Verse 3. Esther 3:5 Book Chapter Verse 4. Genesis 30:10 Book Chapter Verse 5. LESSON 6 What does the Bible teach? We should love Jesus (the King) with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Part of a Bible page is copied below. Find and write the reference (address) that has the words all your heart. Book Chapter Verse Deuteronomy 6 and that you may prolong your days in the land which you will possess. 6 "Now this is the commandment, the statutes and the judgments which the LORD your God has commanded me to teach you, that you might do them in the land where you are going over to possess it, 2 so that you and your son and your grandson might fear the LORD your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged. 3 "O Israel, you should listen and be careful to do it, that it may be well with you and that you may multiply greatly, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you, in a land flowing with milk and honey. 4 "Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one! 5 "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. ~Matthew 22:37

LESSON 7 Why did God give the Bible to me? So I could know His truth and be freed from the penalty of my sin. Can you help Tommy find his way to the Bible, so he can be freed from his burden of sin? You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. ~John 8:32

LESSON 8 Why did God give the Bible to me? Because reading the Bible teaches me to believe in Him and His words. Please find the missing words by looking up the passages (addresses) below in your Bible. You can ask your leader or other grownups for help. God s Word tells us these are all true! 1) Jesus can make a B L I N D man see. (Mark 10:51-52) 2) Jesus can on water. (John 6:19) 3) God can shut a s mouth. (Daniel 6:16, 20-22) 4) God can bring back the. (Luke 7:12-15) 5) God can use a shout and a to knock down a wall. (Joshua 6:20) MOTTO: The Bible is God s holy Word. God wants me to listen to it and believe it. Faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. ~Romans 10:17

LESSON 9 How can I understand the Bible? God wants me to ask Him to help me understand. Without His help, I cannot understand the Bible. When we need help with our homework, we ask our teacher or parent. But when we need help to understand God s Word we ask Him. Color the word below to show how we ask God for help. Give me understanding, that I may observe Your law and keep it with all my heart. ~Psalm 119:34

LESSON 10 How can I remember the Bible s words? by first listening carefully to them and being ready to do what they say. LESSON 11 How can I remember the Bible s words? by obeying its words right away; When I remember its words they are like lights guiding my steps. The Bible is holy Word. God wants to Listen to it, it, remember it, and it! Jim needs to look at God s word again so he can see where to go! Can you help Jim remember our motto about the Bible? LESSON 12 How can I remember the Bible s words? by thinking about its words over and over again and planning ways to obey it. See if you can remember how to find Proverbs 3:1 in the Bible.
