MOBC FAITH DEVELOPMENT!! KINGDOMTIDE August 26 November 30, 2013 (The Pulpit attire is Green) DAILY BIBLE READINGS 2 We are in the season of KINGDOMTIDE, the color of KINGDOMTIDE is GREEN. The color GREEN symbolizes growth. The cloths on the Communion table and podium are changed to coincide with each season of the Christian calendar. KINGDOMTIDE runs from August 26 until Advent. KINGDOMTIDE is the newest of the seasons, dating no farther back than the late 1930 s. KINGDOMTIDE gives place for due attention to the eternal presence of Christ and His Kingship with the parallel emphasis upon our stewardship. Its emphasis on the kingship of Christ and His kingdom, challenges us in our daily lives and in every area of our existence. General Theme For This Quarter: FIRST THINGS God s creative work is seen throughout the stories found in Genesis and Exodus. The quarter begins with the creation of the world and of human beings, explores the creation of a nation that began with God s promises to Abraham and Sarah and their heirs, and then studies the stories of the Hebrew people on their journey out of captivity towards freedom. We hope that you will join us as we are focusing on: THIS WEEK S LESSON: FIRST NATION Points: 1) Jesus took their argument. 2) Jesus expands their argument. 3) Jesus looks beyond their argument. UNIT #2 This is a four-lesson unit that develops the promise made to Abraham by God. The first lessons tell of the promise of land and children to Abraham and Sarah. Lesson 3 sheds light on the blessing promised to Abraham's lineage. The final lesson outlines the blessing being passed to Jacob. THE BLESSING PASSES TO JACOB Genesis 28:1, 10-22 When people feel insecure, they look for a place of security and the assurance of not being alone. Where and with whom can they find sanctuary: God assures Jacob of His presence and promises that through Jacob and his offspring, all the families of the earth will be blessed. NEXT WEEK S LESSON: November 3, 2013 PREPARATION FOR DELIVERANCE Exodus 3:7-17 Before Moses could lead the people to freedom, God repeatedly assured Moses of His persistent help in all the trials to come. Sermon Highlights: October 20, 2013 Title: Jesus Settles An Argument Text: Mark 9:33-35 Main Idea: The disciples were arguing because they didn t understand the concept of Jesus Kingdom. But, before Jesus settled their argument: For the full message order a CD or DVD of the service from the Media Ministry. Don t delay that decision! We encourage you to embrace God s love today and receive the salvation that only Jesus Christ gives. Here are five simple steps you can take to find assurance of salvation. 1. Recognize your need. The Bible tell us that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Rom. 3:23) All of us are sinners, and we must admit our need 2. for a Savior. 3. Repent of your sins. Our sins create a wall that separates us from God. By confessing our sins and turning from them, you will find forgiveness. The Bible promises: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). 4. Believe in Jesus. God sent His only Son to die so that He could pay for all our sins. Put your faith in Him and believe in His power to save you. The Bible says, For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16). 5. Receive His salvation. God has given us a great gift in His Son, but we must receive His gift. Thank Him for loving and forgiving you, and ask Him to live in your heart. His promise to us is clear: But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God (John 1:12). 5. Confess your faith. The Bible assures us: If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Rom. 10:9). You have been born again and are now part of God s family. Tell someone else what Jesus has done in your life!

What Are the Symptoms of Breast Cancer in Men? Symptoms of breast cancer in men are very similar to those in women. Most male breast cancers are diagnosed when a man discovers a lump on his chest. However, unlike women, men tend to go to the doctor with more severe symptoms that may include bleeding from the nipple and abnormalities in the skin above the cancer. At that point the cancer may have already spread to the lymph nodes. How Can Men Get Breast Cancer? Even though men don't have breasts like women, they do have a small amount of breast tissue. In fact, the "breasts" of an adult man are similar to the breasts of a girl before puberty, and consist of a few ducts surrounded by breast and other tissue. In girls, this tissue grows and develops in response to female hormones, but in men -- who do not secrete the same amounts of these hormones -- this tissue doesn't develop. However, because it is still breast tissue, men can develop breast cancer. In fact, men get the same types of breast cancers that women do, although cancers involving the milk producing and storing regions of the breast are rare. Which Men Are More Likely to Get Breast Cancer? It is rare for a man under age 35 to get breast cancer. The likelihood of a man developing breast cancer increases with age. Most male breast cancers are detected between the ages of 60 to 70 years. Other risk factors of male breast cancer include: Family history of breast cancer in a close female relative. History of radiation exposure of the chest. An abnormal enlargement of breasts (called gynecomastia) in response to drug or hormone treatments, or even some infections and poisons. A rare genetic condition called Klinefelter's syndrome. Severe liver disease. Diseases of the testicles such as mumps orchites, a testicular injury, or an undescended testicle. HEALTHCARE MINISTRY
What are the symptoms of women's breast cancer? When breast cancer starts out, it is too small to feel and does not cause signs and symptoms. As it grows, breast cancer can cause changes in how the breast looks or feels. Symptoms may include New lump in the breast or underarm (armpit). Thickening or swelling of part of the breast. Irritation or dimpling of breast skin. Redness or flaky skin in the nipple area or the breast. Pulling in of the nipple or pain in the nipple area. Nipple discharge other than breast milk, including blood. Any change in the size or the shape of the breast. Pain in any area of the breast. Monthly breast self-exams are an option for all women beginning by age 20. Women who regularly examine their breasts become more aware of how their breasts normally feel. They are more likely to notice changes -- including masses or lumps -- that could be early signs of cancer. It's best to check about a week after your period, when breasts are not swollen or tender. If you no longer have a period, examine yourself on the same day every month. If you see or feel a change in your breasts, see your doctor immediately. But remember, most of the time breast changes are not cancer. HEALTHCARE MINISTRY
