CONGREGATIONAL HYMN 1 My faith has found a resting place by Eliza E. Hewitt My faith has found a resting place, Not in device or creed; I trust the ever living One, His wounds for me shall plead. Refrain I need no other argument, I need no other plea, It is enough that Jesus died, And that He died for me. Enough for me that Jesus saves, This ends my fear and doubt; A sinful soul I come to Him, He ll never cast me out. Refrain My heart is leaning on the Word, The living Word of God, Salvation by my Savior s Name, Salvation through His blood. Refrain My great Physician heals the sick, The lost He came to save; For me His precious blood He shed, For me His life He gave. Refrain
CONGREGATIONAL HYMN 2 My faith looks up to Thee By Ray Palmer (1830) My faith looks up to Thee, Thou Lamb of Calvary, Savior divine! Now hear me while I pray, take all my guilt away, O let me from this day be wholly Thine! May Thy rich grace impart Strength to my fainting heart, my zeal inspire! As Thou hast died for me, O may my love to Thee, Pure warm, and changeless be, a living fire! While life s dark maze I tread, And griefs around me spread, be Thou my Guide; Bid darkness turn to day, wipe sorrow s tears away, Nor let me ever stray from Thee aside. When ends life s transient dream, When death s cold sullen stream over me roll; Blest Savior, then in love, fear and distrust remove; O bear me safe above, a ransomed soul!
CONGREGATIONAL HYMN 3 How great thou art by Carl Gustaf Boberg (1859-1940) Stuart K. Hine (1949) Translated to English. O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder, Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made; I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed. Chorus: Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee, How great Thou art! How great Thou art! Then sings my soul, My Savior God, to Thee, How great Thou art! How great Thou art! When through the woods, and forest glades I wander, And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees. When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze. Chorus And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing; Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in; That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing, He bled and died to take away my sin. Chorus When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation, And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart. Then I shall bow, in humble adoration, And then proclaim, "My God, how great Thou art!" Chorus

By Faith Noah being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared am ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is by Faith. (Heb. 10:7 KJV) The necessary basis for operating Faith is the Word of God. Without God s Word Faith cannot incept or commence. This is a strong and important reference of notice in operating Faith. Faith commences when the Word of God about a subject is revealed, embraced and employed. It could be greatly distressing, frustrating and disappointing to confuse Faith with Idea; this confusion is the bane of pursuing one s idea mistaking it for act or step of Faith. Thus, clarity about Faith and idea is key to understanding and operating Faith. Whereas an idea is a thought, plan or notion derived from one s imagination; a conjecture of one s mind: Faith is an inspiration of God; a motion by God upon a Man s spirit to do (often) what is humanly undesirable or un-desirable. Faith is a situated in Man s spirit but idea is a derived from the intellect; a calculation envisioned by what is physically possible but Faith is spiritual; a derivation of God s infinite understanding to bring something out of notion. Idea is basic, earthy and carnal but Faith is intricate, complex, Heavenly and Spiritual. The account of Moses and his mission to save the children of Israel from Egypt is a good reference to illustrate the distinction between Faith and Idea. When Moses was yet in Egypt and ahead of God calling and sending him to return to Egypt after he fled (Egypt); Moses had an idea or a thought that backfired and he fled for his life (chuckle). Moses could not realize his idea. About this account the Bible says, When Moses was forty years old, he decided to visit his own people, the Israelites. He saw one of them being mistreated by an Egyptian, so he went to his defense and avenged him by killing the Egyptian. Moses thought that his own people would realize that God was using him to rescue them, but they did not he fled to Midian, where he settled as a foreigner and had two sons. (Acts 7: 23-27 NIV). Notice, Moses thought ; the venture was his idea; God did not (or had not) sent him at the time. What he did was merely his idea and that idea failed. It is important as interesting to note that, one may attempt the same activity by an idea whereas it would had been by Faith if only one does that same activity at God s command. (Meditate on this). According to the Bible, after forty years as a fugitive and outlaw; God would call on Moses using him to rescue them as Bible recorded; The Lord said to him I have indeed seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their groaning and have come down to set them free. Now come, I will send you back to Egypt. (Acts 7:33-34 NIV). At God s instance being now by Faith; Moses said, Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else. (Exo. 4:13 NIV) but he went eventually. One may ask is it a bad idea to have an idea, wish, desire or plan derived from one s mind or intellect?. Oh! It may not be wrong but it may not work either as encountered by Moses. Until Moses went by God to rescue Israel (which had been his idea); Moses s idea was unsuccessful but by Faith; being inspired by God; the goal was realized For we walk by faith, not by sight (1 Cor. 5:7 KJV) Let us learn to always commit our idea to God; allow him to direct our choice and course; then our plans shall succeed. WEEKLY REVIEW Our Citizenship III - Origin And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. John 8:23 KJV Origin is the beginning or cause of a thing or person, it is the point of inception or existence. It alludes to the feature, element and character of everything or person it invents or creates. As believers, the Kingdom we belong to has a feature of having more than enough to sustain its citizens and expects us to live and act as such on earth. (Ps 82:6) Christ paid the ultimate price to have us take on His exact form on earth. It is on us to find out and draw benefit from the rich resources that the kingdom of heaven has made available and to represent our source every day of our lives. We must work at being transformed into the original image and citizens the King of our Kingdom has called us. God expects us to become citizens after His own order, true replicas of Himself. How much we comply to our place of origin makes us original citizens of this Kingdom Beloved, the notice and notion of our Origin as Christians is pivotally important to what accompanies us in life s courses and events; it defines our outlook, perception, response, reaction and the general aptitude to confront life. We manage life from the hidden realization of the truth about our Origin in Christ. About His Origin, The Lord Jesus said, I am from above (John 8:23 KJV); whereas others were from beneath; the notion of being from above was foreign but Jesus aptly identified His Origin. He was neither unclear nor apologetic about His root or origin. We must share the notice of this blessed truth and the benefits it provides. Sister Kachi Odumah
