FALL 2018 DISCIPLESHIP OPPORTUNITIES A Place for You to Belong! Mount Pisgah A United Methodist Community This catalog is a listing of the Discipleship Groups offered for Fall 2018. All our groups participate in a missions opportunity throughout the semester and strive to pray daily for each other. To register, simply complete the enclosed form. Please make sure to include your name, phone number, email, and group that you want to join, as several leaders have more then one group. Some groups have a participant s guide or member s book that is recommended. For Sunday classes, contact the class leaders for books. Wednesday Night Live books are all priced at $10.00 (exceptions are listed). Please attach a check for your class selection, made to MPUMC, memo Live books. Please contact Dana Hanlon, Director for Christian Education at dana@mtpisgahgso.org if you have any questions. Wednesday Night Live Meals Each week our wonderful chefs prepare a meal for all our families that sign up in advance. Meals are listed on our website, Enews and bulletin. Cost of the meals is $7.50 per adult and $4.00 per child (10 and under). Maximum cost is $20.00 per family. To reserve your meals, please complete the enclosed form, or stop by the church office. All meals must be paid for by the Monday before the meal. Checks are to be made to: Nancy Pierron and dropped off at the church office with a registration form included in this brochure.

2 Traditional Sunday School Hour for Children Infants 5th Grade (9:45am) All parents of students from Infants through 5 th grade are asked to sign their children in/out in person. Children will not be allowed to leave the Elementary or Pre-school wings without a parent with them. Parents must pick up children at 10:55am. Sunday School: Families sign-in at our Children s Check-in Station and proceed to their classrooms. We use the Hands On Bible Curriculum, which encourages active learning from all children. Children learn each week The Lord s Prayer, the Apostles Creed, to pray for each others concerns and a story from the Bible. Lessons are active with hands on activities, games and practical ways to apply the Bible to today. 9:45 Classes are as Follows: Infants 2yr olds: Room 120 Pre-school 3yr-5yr (Pre-K): Room: 119 Grades K 2nd: Room: 204 Grades 3rd 5th: Room: 207 Parents must pick up children by 10:50am. Luke 2:52 (CEB) Jesus matured in wisdom and years, and in favor with God and with people. 11:00 Children s Church K-5th Grade LOCATION: Room 210 & 204 Learning through play, Bible stories, motion and music, our Children s Church participants enjoy interactive lessons and a steadfast love from our Sunday School teachers. We ask parents to sign in/ their children at the children s Check in Station before worship. Children begin Children s Church in the Sanctuary. After the Children s Moment the group proceeds to the classroom. NURSERY during Worship Our youngest members are welcome in our Nursery. We have two trained Nursery/Preschool Ministry Staff members waiting to love on and serve our families! Our nursery is available from 9:30 am through end of worship at 12:15 pm. Parents are provided a pager for emergencies, and are asked to bring diapers. We only provide toddlers with Goldfish (if parents give us permission) and bottles to our youngest children. 3 Youth 9:45 10:45 This hour lead by Camille Muire is geared targeting middle school students while all are welcome. We are excited about the opportunity to create bonds with each student during this hour that carry over into Sunday evening weekly gatherings. Locations: All Youth Classes: Room 206, Whobodies Room Youth 11:00 Noon This hour lead by Frank Roughgarden is geared toward high school students. An exciting time of diving into the word together, gaining a deeper knowledge of faith all while furthering lasting relationships between students. 1 Timothy 4:12 Don t let anyone look down on you because you are young. Instead, set an example for the believers through your speech, behavior, love, and faith,. Confirmation All youth 6th grade and older are invited to attend Confirmation Class beginning September 30 through November 18. The class is scheduled for eight weeks from 8:30am Noon every Sunday. Each class includes worship, bible study, discussion and more. A mandatory retreat is planned for October 20th from 10am 3pm. More information is provided at mtpisgahgso.org. Pisgah s Youth Group have had a long standing reputation for excellence in our community. We meet every Sunday night from 4:30-6:00PM. This group of youth grades 6-12th, enjoy fellowship time, student lead worship, games, Bible Study & a closing prayer time. Youth are encouraged to invest in week long summer missions trips [Serve Week], Fall & Spring spiritual retreats [Camp Cheerio], monthly outreaches, Winter Basketball League & much more! Our goal is to work through the Bible with a few additional studies during the Advent season. Through its pages, God is revealed as the Creator, Sustainer, Judge, and Redeemer who brought all things into being. Our lessons survey God's creation of the universe, earth, and people. In addition, we have monthly socials and a mission focus for our class. Each week we strive to learn more about building our relationship with Christ and encouraging each other in our faith walk.

The class is a great time for fellowship with one another as we have great conversations and learn from one another. Several times a month our group goes for lunch together after our class. We meet in the Agape room on the 2nd floor directly The Gathering class is finishing Louie Giglio Goliath Must Fall. Our next study is Short Stories by Jesus Our missions include working on blankets for the homeless that we give the police to hand out. This will be done on Sunday 11/4 this year. (100 blankets, toboggans, socks, bibles etc. in bags) after the Mount service Wednesday Night Live Discipleship Opportunities for Kids NURSERY: Is available for our youngest members, infant through 3yrs old. Please sign all your children up for participation along with your Discipleship Choices. We look forward to the whole family attending Wednesday Night Live. Wednesdays @ Mount Pisgah Join us on Wednesday Night at 6pm for our weekly Wednesday Night Kids club. Children are given the opportunity to sign, play games and learn more about God!
