The goal is also three fold: 1) To empower young people to live as Disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today; 2) To draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of Jesus and the Catholic faith community; 3) To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person. The goal of the Youth Ministry Team is to create a youth friendly parish which threads the youth throughout the community. We invite the youth to have a more active participation in the mission of Jesus and in the church as a whole. We will strive to create social activities with peers in a moral and Christian atmosphere and embrace and explore the teaching of the Bible during our Youth Group sessions. The youth will have the opportunity to discover and evangelize the mission of Jesus through fulfilling and uplifting parish, community, and global service! NEW SUNDAY MEET UP TIMES Our Corpus Christi youth groups have grown tremendously. To help with the busy schedules of these amazing youth and their families, we will continue with BOTH our JR High School & High School/Confirmation meet ups on Sundays. This format will allow continued participation post Confirmation as well as set sessions for new candidates, focused on preparation for the Sacrament. Youth Group/Confirmation start time 11am JRHS dismissal @ NOON HS/Confirmation dismissal @ 1pm (unless otherwise noted)
HIGH SCHOOL & JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUPS HS/Confirmation & JRHS meet ups. Missions, events, projects, parties etc. for groups combined and individually throughout the year. CONFIRMATION Regular meet ups on Sunday. The Sacrament of Confirmation calls High School aged youth to a deeper commitment and involvement in the Church. ALTAR SERVING For guys and girls in the 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th grade or there about. Assist the priest in the celebration of mass as Lead, Second and Cross Bearer. Scheduled well in advance. Training provided. USHERING For guys and girls in 9 th grade and beyond. Help out at Mass. Scheduled well in advance. Training provided. LITURGY OF THE WORD FOR CHILDREN (LWC) Offered at the 9:45 mass on Sunday, youth assist the leader and celebrate the Liturgy of the Word for Children. EUCHARISTIC MINISTER (** POST CONFIRMATION) For High School age youth post Confirmation. Help celebrate Mass. Training provided. RETREATS, EVENTS, MISSIONS & SERVICE PROJECTS Offered throughout the year to all the youth! VENTURE CREW 747 Opportunity for guys and girls, 14-20 yrs. old. On-going. BOY SCOUT TROOP 747 For guys 10-18 who want to learn about the great outdoors, be part of an award winning troop, and learn new respect for God, country and family.
