Hindi Bhasha Diwas To commemorate as the national language, podar International School, ICSE, Aurangabad devoted an entire fortnight from 1 st to 15 th September. During these 15 days the whole of the campus was bustling with the praise for the Hindi as a national language. On the concluding day, Sept 15 th 2014, the Principal Mr. Prashant Muley lightened the lamp and inaugurated the main set of program with a border motive to inculcate the profound virtues and values of high morals with staking a series of drama skits on the epic Ramayana viz. teacher pupil relationship in guru Vishwamitra s ashram, dhanush bhang by Lord Rama, incarnation of Vishnu, Rama- Bharat meeting, hosting of Rama by Shabri and ultimately the Rama- Ravan battle. Keeping in view, the year theme of the school. Promoting Internationalism, the famous sabce version of Ramayana was presented very intricately on the famous context of Sita abduction by the villain Ravana. The school also witnessed a series of competitions on debates, recitation of verses of legendary poets namely Kabirdas, Tulsidas, Surdas, Mirabai etc. A humorous poetry recitation was also conducted in which the students participated enthusiastically. With all these activities and fun fare, the Hindi department of the school tried to drive home the feeling of patriotism and national integration among all the stakeholder o the school successfully.

Marathwada Mukti Sangram Day

In memory of those martyars who sacrificed their lives for Marathwada s independence, we celebrate every year 17 th September as Marathwada Muktisangram Din in our school PIS,ICE. This year also we celebrated this day with great fervor. Our respected Vice Principal, Mr.Yogesh Brahmapurikar Sir hoisted the national flag. It was followed by an informative speech by one of our colleague Mr. Anil Salve, which made us remember with greatfulness all the leaders who made great sacrifices in the Marathwada liberation struggle. World Car Free Day At Podar International School ICSE, Aurangabad World Car free Day was celebrated on 22 nd September. A The Environmental Transport Association set the initial annual Car-Free Day on the first Tuesday in their Green Transport Week (around 17 June), since 2000 it was agreed to make it a self-standing day held on September 22, originally as a pan-european day organised under the auspices of the European Commission and later with international extensions during which a large number of cities around the world are invited to close their centers to cars. Pedestrians, bicycles, public transit and other forms of sustainable transportation are encouraged on these days. People can reflect on what their city would look like with a lot fewer cars, and what might be needed to make this happen.

Significance of World Car Free Day Less cars, fewer accidents - feel safe! Cycling and walking keep you fit- stay healthy! Reduction of carbon-emissions - save our climate! Don t pollute - breathe freely! No more costs for fuel - save money! Take the space that belongs to you - enjoy your city! Policy Level- Improving pedestrian infrastructure IEC Workshop The first workshop of Inclusive Education Cell, i.e. IEC was conducted on 17 th September 2014 in PIS, Aurangabad, ICSE. Points Discussed: Why Inclusion?, Principal s Role in IEC, Teacher s Role in IEC, Parent s Role in IEC, Counselor s Role in IEC: Session moved ahead with Mrs. Anuradha explaining teachers how to fill up the Teacher s Observation Forms. Example of forms filled by teachers of ICSE Aurangabad was shown. Even here, example of ICSE Aurangabad s was shown. Session progressed with the activity. All the members were divided into 5 groups. Each group was given a special area viz. ADHD, LD, Slow Learner, Emotional Difficulty, Behavioral Difficulty (ODD). Each group was asked to discuss & list out the symptoms of given area & the counselor from the group had to present that list at the end of the activity & explain it to others. The activity was a tremendous success & all participated enthusiastically.

Green Consumers Day Green Consumer Day is celebrated on September 28 every year. It was celebrated in in Podar ICSE, Aurangabad also. This global celebration highlights the problems of consumerism and its impact on the environment. This is an area of major concern in today's global market orientated world. We should focus primarily on awareness-raising and the importance of recycling, reusing and reducing waste material. A green consumer is someone who is very concerned about the environment and, therefore, only purchases products that are environmentally-friendly. Products with little or no packaging, products

made from natural ingredients and products that are made without causing pollution are all examples of eco-friendly products. The green consumer would be the type to drive a hybrid vehicle, buy products made from recycled materials. So, if you are not a green consumer, then Green Consumer Day is the day when you can think and rethink on what we buy, how and the impact it has on us and on our common environment. Motivated by the universal need that has arisen; we can take our small baby steps, which would add to the conglomeration of the bigger cause Environment Protection. Let us Go Green and make a difference! World Tourism Day Since 1980, the United Nations World Tourism Organization has celebrated World Tourism Day on September 27. This date was chosen as on that day in 1970, the Statutes of the UNWTO were adopted. The adoption of these Statutes is considered a milestone in global tourism. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness on the role of tourism within the international community and to demonstrate how it affects social, cultural, political and economic values worldwide. In Podar International School ICSE, this day was celebrated very humorously. It was extremely informative for the students.
