2017-18

The vigorous, continual planting of new congregations is the single most crucial stategy for the numberical growth of the body of Christ in a city and the continual corporate renewal and revival of the existing churches in a city. Dr. Tim Keller C2C network is a cross-denominational disciplemaking mission that exists to catalyze leaders, churches, and denominations to multiply the Gospel in cities and towns from sea to sea. We partner with those who desire to plant, replant, and create multi-site churches that are Gospel- Centered, Spirit-Led and Mission-Focused. THREE CORE VALUES Gospel Centered The person and work of Jesus Christ is central to how we interact with each other and how we lead in the local church. Our focus is not on a cause or a particular theological or moral position but, rather, on a Person Jesus Christ. We commit to an understanding and proclamation of the historic gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ as expounded in Scriptures. Spirit Led We commit to the leading of the Holy Spirit to illuminate the Word of God and the Son of God to transform the church of God. We strive to rely completely upon the Spirit of God to call planters into His harvest (Luke 10:2), to provide all the resources we need to carry out His work. Prayer saturation is the key spiritual strategy that we practice. c2cnetwork.org info@c2cnetwork.ca @c2cnetwork Mission Focused We do not exist merely to plant churches; we exist to make many more disciples among the lost people in North America. God sent Jesus to seek and to save the lost. Jesus sent the church to make disciples of people of all nations. Where this is practiced, more churches will be necessary to handle the births of new believers. The local church is the ongoing training center where believers receive encouragement, inspiration, and vision to proclaim this good news to those who are separated from God.

TEN BEST PRACTICES Ultimately, the call and development of a church planter is the work of the Spirit. However, we follow ten best practices to nurture a healthy church plant with a healthy church planter. We often cluster them with the acrostic ACTS. ACTS Assessment Coaching Training Support ASSESSMENT 1Prayer Jesus said, Apart from me, you can do nothing. The effectual, fervent prayer of a body of people is what is necessary to transform America. We are asking everyone to set their alarms for 10:02 am to pray that the Lord of the Harvest would send workers (Luke 10:2). 2Discernment Process C2C helps planters to discern their calling and vision to plant a church. We walk with them, as a shepherd, to help them make one of the most important decisions of their lives. 3Assessment C2C network provides a formal Assessment Center with many seasoned leaders to measure a candidate s capacity according to our Ten Dimensions of a Church Planter. TRAINING 6Apprenticeship C2C planters enter into an apprenticeship prior to launching their new church. This on ramping allows the planter the time necessary to prepare properly and to develop a core group. 7Word C2C holds a high value on the authority, inerrancy, and proclamation of the Scriptures in a bold manner. We train our planters to become effective gospel communicators. 8Training C2C equips local leaders through a learning community of fellow planters in Incubator, a 16-module church planting school. We sponsor a National Conference, MULTIPLY, to embolden leaders for planting, replanting, and multi-site expansion. We have regional events like Ascent Basecamp to recruit and encourage church multiplication. COACHING 4Gospel Coaching Every church planter receives a gospel coach to meet with 9Financial Support C2C seeks to ensure that every new ministry has a good the planter monthly to shepherd and equip in personal, financial base and good financial systems. spiritual, and missional aspects of their lives. 10 Task Force C2C works with the planter to establish a temporary external leadership team to give oversight, accountability sending church, and the denominational partners to facilitate and support to the planter and church. the planting of a healthy church by healthy partners. 5Covenant Agreement C2C enters into a covenant with the church planter, the SUPPORT

Go on up to a high mountain, O Zion, herald of good news; lift up your voice with strength, O Jerusalem, herald of good news; lift it up, fear not; say to the cities of Judah, Behold your God! Isaiah 40:9 The Power 6 The Preparation 5 The Partnership 4 The Call 3 The Missional Need 2 1 ASCENT TO MULTIPLY Isaiah 40:9 calls all who cherish the good news of a coming King to spread it with enthusiasm. Climb up to a high place, turn up the volume, don t let your fears keep you silent, and draw attention to God. Say to everyone around, Look! It s your God our only hope! We view this trek toward church planting as a progressive process. It starts with the 1) gospel of the Person and work of Jesus Christ prompting 2) the leader who sees and feels the missional need and then 3) experiences a call to action. C2C helps to affirm that call and then enters into a 4) partnership and the 5) planter prepares and then 6) launches a gospel work by the power of the Word and Spirit. 1 Starts with The Gospel Our salvation starts with the gospel, God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). The ascent to multiply a church must also begin with the gospel s message that Jesus Christ, the righteous One, died for sinful people, rose again and is eternally triumphant over death, and Hell, and sin so that there is no condemnation to those who believe by faith. The Gospel 2 Sees and Feels The Missional Need Jesus gave a commandment to make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:16-20). When Jesus saw the crowds who were helpless and harassed like sheep without a shepherd He was moved with compassion and He instructed the disciples to cry out to God for more workers for the harvest (Matt. 9:35-38). New churches draw new converts. New churches can proactively address the socio-economic nuances in our cities by strategically positioning ministries poised to serve the changing community in fresh and effective ways. 3 Experiences The Call The Spirit calls harvest workers and the church affirms this through prayer and discernment (Acts 13:1-2). Church planting is not an easy journey; it is an uphill climb filled with lots of obstacles. God is a sending God. He sends church planters for a missional need to proclaim the good news. The church planter must dedicate the entirety of their lives to this call, giving up all their time, energies, and interests for the good of those whom the Holy Spirit appoints as an overseer in this entrepreneurial endeavor. Therefore, we pray for workers, prepare workers, send workers, and fund workers for the Lord s harvest.

4 Enters into The Partnership No church planter should attempt to plant a church without a covenant partnership with an organization. C2C network walks with the planting couple all along the way. No one walks alone. This starts with discernment interviews. It includes a formal three-day assessment that utilizes many tools, measurements, and data to measure their readiness to plant. Those who are recommended, enter into an apprenticeship as they prepare to plant in the city where God is calling them. They receive gospel coaching as they prepare to launch their new church. The coach continues with them for years by asking tough questions and helping them to lead and pastor their young church. C2C also assists with the needed funds and by assembling a task force a temporary leadership team. 5 Commits to The Preparation Even if a planter has the adequate seminary education, they are not necessarily prepared to plant a church. Preparation includes experience in the local church, a yearlong apprenticeship and a learning community with other planters. We offer church planter training through Incubator, a two-year equipping community that can be done while they plant. We also have an accredited MDiv that can be accomplished completely onsite in the context of a local church. The preparation includes being identified by a local church or denomination as a qualified elder. desire, however, are those dependent upon the power of the Word and the Spirit. Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus (Acts 4:13). Word: We are committed to the absolute authority and accuracy of Scripture, even where it flies in the face of ecclesial tradition, contemporary culture, or intellectual fashion. We are also committed to experiencing the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, eagerly desiring spiritual gifts, and accessing the ministry of the Holy Spirit to regenerate the church today. Spirit: The Scripture is plain that that the word alone is not enough to enter and change the heart of natural man (who is hostile to God s word) but that the heart must be opened and the mind illumined by the simultaneous work of the Spirit. For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction (1 Thess. 1:4-5). The Ascent to Multiplication It is our great joy and calling as the C2C network, to climb the steep trail alongside planters and their families to pursue the planting of a gospel-centered, Spirit-led, missionfocused church. 6 Aligns with The Power of Word and Spirit When we think of capable planters, we can become enamored or intimidated by their charisma, their intellect, and their communication skills. The kind of planters that we If you are a planter, a church, or denomination that is interested in ascending with C2C network to multiply, contact us.

Making Disciples... Jesus said go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19). Catalyzing leaders includes practical and inspirational training through Incubator and MULTIPLY. The proclamation of the gospel is a very important value of every C2C church plant. Baptism is a disciple s identification with the person and work of Jesus.

New churches often gather in modest spaces with a passion and vision to evangelize the city. The main activity of a new church is outreach. This includes safe events to interact with those unaffiliated with a church. According to statistics, new churches baptize 350% more (per capita) than a church older than 10 years. The new church gathers with the community for meaningful worship and then scatters to intentionally share the hope of Jesus....Catalyzing Leaders

HOW TO GET INVOLVED 1 2 Prayer Pray for the church planting couples in this brochure and that their churches will be fruitful. Pray for workers every day at 10:02am. Pray that the Lord would provide them for His work. Pray for the needed finances of C2C USA. Adopt a Church Consider taking on one of these church-planting couples as a missionary in your local church. Your church can also adopt a church planter to pray for them, encourage them, and support them whenever possible. It pays huge dividends to know that someone stands in support of them at all times. 3Support C2C Network Financially as a Church As C2C network is just getting started in the US, we need start-up funds as we travel to the church plants, train them, and provide a financial contribution for them. We are going to provide a retreat each year for the planters and your contribution brings much needed interaction with other planters. 4 Become a Member of a Church Plant These new churches need mature believers to serve, lead, support and reach out to the people of their community. This can be a short term commitment or a permanent partnership. 5Plant a Church C2C network can help you, your church, or your denomination if you ever feel the calling of God to begin planting. 6Personal Financial Support We depend on the generous and regular gifts from individuals to meet the majority of our financial needs. Your gifts go toward advancing C2C church plants. Online donations can be given: mbmission.org/donate/projects/c2c-network-usa Checks can be made out to C2C Network and mailed to: C2C Network 4867 E.
