Milford Bible Church Scripture Memory Program 2018-2019 Junior High Grades 6-8 Name Address: Phone: Grade: Teacher:

GUIDELINES IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ Changes for 2018-2019 Please be aware of a new procedure for record keeping for the MBC Scripture Memory Program. We will no longer be filling out weekly sheets for each passage memorized. Rather, all signatures of qualified listeners will be recorded in the memory booklet itself and the date noted, as well. Each participant is now responsible for keeping the booklet as his/her own record of progress in the program. There will be NO OTHER MEANS of record keeping. At the conclusion of the program on May 26, 2019, each participant will submit his/her booklet with all required signatures and dates as proof of completion. This places the responsibility for keeping track of the memorized verses upon the student or adult. If you lose your booklet, you will need to get a new one and say the verses again to get credit for them. Therefore, it is important to take care of the booklet and keep track of it. Place your name, etc. on the cover immediately upon receiving it. Remember, family members cannot sign as listeners. Qualified listeners are MBC SS teachers and Christian Education Committee members. Also, these listeners will be holding participants to a reasonable standard of accuracy in memorization with few, if any, helps. Thank you in advance for your assistance in making this work. Verses may be recited on Sunday morning, before or after Sunday School, or on Wednesday evenings, before or after programs. All verses contained in this study guide are from the English Standard Version (ESV). This is the version that the church uses and we encourage all participants to use the ESV for memorization; however, if you would prefer, verses can be recited in New King James Version (NKJV); King James Version (KJV); New American Standard (NASB); or New International Version (NIV). If you use one of these translations, please bring that copy with you so that the listener can follow along with you. The program begins on Sunday, September 30, 2018 and ends on Sunday, May 26, 2019. Awards Program for Memory Work Participants finishing the program can choose a reward from the following list: - $50 gift certificate from Christian Book Distributors - $100 Scholarships to Christian camps approved by CE Committee - $100 toward Ladies' Lyfe - $100 toward Men s retreat at BBC - $100 toward Ladies' Craft Weekend - $100 toward Christian college summer programs, missions trips and Youth Programs approved by CE - $100 toward Christian couples' retreats approved by CE Committee - $100 toward purchase of up to two tickets for performances at Sight and Sound Theatre Transferring of Awards Anyone who finishes the program may give his/her reward to another person who has also finished his/her memory work.
