The Kind of Mother Satan Fears Luke 1:28 28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. Luke 1:28 (KJV) May 8, 2011 (CHARITY B C 5-8-16) AM Service Someone once said, "She who rocks the cradle rules the world." The importance of a mother in our lives is astonishing! She nurtured you when you were a baby. She bandaged your skinned knee when you were you. She even comforted you when you got your heart
broken. Satan knows how important she is to us. He is in a constant attack mode on her position in the home. If Satan can get the mother out of the home he can get the home out of balance and off tract for the Lord. (Daycare, dad staying home etc.) It should be that most of what the children learn comes from the mother! But it isn t anymore. This morning I d like to teach you the kind of Mother that Satan fears and trembles when he sees them. If you are a mother or not you should listen up to learn how a mother should be like. For many years Monterey, a California coast town, was a pelican's paradise. As the
fishermen cleaned their fish, they flung the offal to the pelicans. The birds grew fat, lazy, and contented. Eventually, however the offal was utilized, and there were no longer snacks for the pelicans. When the change came the pelicans made no effort to fish for themselves. They waited around and grew gaunt and thin. Many starved to death. They had forgotten how to fish for themselves. The problem was solved by importing new pelicans from the south, birds accustomed to foraging for themselves. They were placed among their starving
cousins, and the newcomers immediately started catching fish. Before long, the hungry pelicans followed suit, and the famine was ended. Bits & Pieces, June 23, 1994, p. 17. I. HANNAH, A PRAYING MOTHER- 1 Samuel 1:27-28 For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him: Therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD. And he worshipped the LORD there.
(Read back in the chapter. Vs. 20 Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD. Hannah gave her son Samuel to the Lord. He was God s child and he was just loaned to her by God. A mother's prayers will keep Satan from her children! If you are not going to pray for your children Satan just may come up and snatch them away from you. That would break any mother s heart. Take
time to pray for your children every day. A mother's prayers will get and keep her children in church. A mother's prayers will keep the home happy and well. A mother s prayers just may call her children into full time service for the Lord. II. EVE, A SUBMISSIVE MOTHER- Genesis 3:16, 20
Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. Eve is the mother of all living. she was a very submissive mother. There was no example for her to follow. She had to follow what the Lord instructed her to do. Submission is the umbrella of protection from God. Are you under it? Satan knows the children will follow her example! Satan knows that your children follow your example. Mother s your daughters will turn out to be the same kind of wife you are!
Satan knows the power of a Godly home life - attack against the home! Don t let Satan camp out in your home. Your spirit can help or hurt the home. Guard your spirit ladies and in turn you will be protecting the spirit of your whole family. In Proverbs 31:26-28 it describes a mother who s spirit is controlled by the Lord. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Nobody likes to be around a grump! Look at 1 Peter 3:4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the
ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. Meekness isn t weakness! The word meek means humble. Sarah was and is held in high respects her husband Abraham. Why? She helped him in life and in what God wanted him to do. Kids you need to listen, fear and be in reverence of your mother. Listen to her instruction and do it. You will be blessed! Who do you think was the biggest teacher in the home in Genesis 18:19?
For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. III. A SPIRITUAL MOTHER - 2 Kings 8:1-2 Then spake Elisha unto the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go thou and thine household, and sojourn wheresoever thou canst sojourn: for the LORD hath called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years. And the woman arose,
and did after the saying of the man of God: and she went with her household, and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years. A mother who is a spiritual mother respects and obeys her pastor. She also teaches that respect to her children. To have unquestioned reliance upon a pastor or other spiritual leader can lead to embarrassment and even bitter disillusionment. I was reminded of this recently when I came across an interesting item about President Coolidge. Once he invited some friends from Vermont
to dine at the White House. They were worried about their table manners, so they decided to do everything their host did. All went well until coffee was served. Coolidge poured his into the saucer. The guests did the same. The President added sugar and cream. So did the visitors. Then Coolidge leaned over and placed his saucer on the floor for the cat. Source Unknown. Some mothers are critical and have "roast pastor." Never let your children see that you disagree with the preacher, if you
do. Your children won't come to him in times of trouble. You will reap what you sow. Your children will be in trouble. Satan has destroyed many a young person over this! Years ago the communist government in China commissioned an author to write a biography of Hudson Taylor with the purpose of distorting the facts and presenting him in a bad light. They wanted to discredit the name of this consecrated missionary of the gospel. As the author was doing his research, he was increasingly impressed by Taylor's saintly character and godly life, and he
found it extremely difficult to carry out his assigned task with a clear conscience. Eventually, at the risk of losing his life, he laid aside his pen, renounced his atheism, and received Jesus as his personal Savior. Whether we realize it or not, our example leaves an impression on others. Source Unknown. A spiritual mother faithfully attends church. Not just in body but in spirit too! Your children watch how you react to the preaching.
A spiritual mother faithfully reads and studies her Bible. Joan Clifton Costner wrote a poem titled A Mother s Bible Mother had a treasured Bible That was worn and rather thin; When we brought our troubles to her, She would take it down, again. Seemed she always found the answer In those fragile pages there -- And we noticed how she handled it With tender, loving care.
When our hearts were broken, bleeding, She would tell how Jesus, too, Knew the salty taste of tears, As He prayed the long night through. And, when we came with hearts aflutter, Proud of deeds that we had done She would show us that tomorrow Comes a new song to be sung. How she loved us! How she steadied From the low ebb to the height! How she reverenced that old Bible, How she spread it's precious light!
Every child knew faith and reverence, Even those who weren't her own. For, her open arms would often Shelter one without a home. Now, the years have slipped behind us. She has left this home, below. But, we look to Heaven gladly, Knowing it's where she would go. Fragile pages of her Bible, Handle we with loving care! Still we find, within it's pages,
Truth and life forever there! Percentage of American teens who say they want to be like their parents: 39%. Charis Conn, Ed., What Counts: The Complete Harper's Index. Your children should see you study your Bible and see you have your own personal study time. There is no greater value than a Godly mother who is setting a great example for her children to follow. IV. A SOUL WINNING MOTHER- 3 John 1:4
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. There is no greater joy for a mother than to see her children get saved! It is even greater than when they were born. Mother take your children out soul winning with you. Show them what it is like to lead someone to the Saviour. Pray with them for their friends to be saved. Make a big deal about it. A study once disclosed that if both Mom and Dad attend church regularly, 72% of their children
remain faithful. If only Dad, 55% remain faithful. If only Mom, 15%. If neither attended regularly, only 6% remain faithful. The statistics speak for themselves--the example of parents and adults is more important than all the efforts of the church and Sunday School. Warren Mueller in Homemade, May, 1990. V. A SEPARATED MOTHER - Proverbs 31:10
Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. A mother can only be virtuous if she is separated. A virtuous woman will leave a legacy that will far outlive her! What legacy are you leaving? A separated mother is not afraid of work - Proverbs 31:11-21 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth
her food from afar. She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. Teach your children how to do things around the house. (Cook, clean, sow, laundry etc.)
A separated mother dresses different from the world 10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart. Prov 7:10 (KJV) - Proverbs 31:22-25 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. Mom your daughters will dress the same way you do. They will eventually borrow all of your clothes.
A separated mother speaks words of gold - praise and encouragement. Proverbs 31:26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. With a separated mother her children learn and end up living happy lives because they followed her example - Proverbs 31:27-29 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Psalms 1:1-2 (KJV) A separated mother will be praised. Proverbs 31:30-31 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let
her own works praise her in the gates. The greatest form of praise is following in the persons footsteps. Few things are harder to put up with than the annoyance of a good example. Mark Twain. One Sunday morning in 1865, a black man entered a fashionable church in Richmond, Virginia. When Communion was served, he walked down the aisle and knelt at the altar. A rustle of resentment swept the congregation. How dare he! After all, believers in that church used the common cup. Suddenly a
distinguished layman stood up, stepped forward to the altar, and knelt beside the black man. With Robert E. Lee setting the example, the rest of the congregation soon followed his lead. Today in the Word, September, 1991, p. 15. During the Nazi occupation of his country in WWII, King Christian X of Denmark noticed a Nazi flag flying over a Danish public building. He immediately called the German commandant, demanding that the flag be taken down at once. The
commandant refused. "Then a soldier will go and take it down." said the king. "He will be shot," threatened the commandant. "I think not," replied the king, "for I shall be the soldier." Within minutes the flag was taken down. Today in the Word, MBI, August, 1991, p. 13. Are you leaving a good path for your kids? Conclusion
Satan fears this kind of mother. He trembles. I believe that he is even more scared of this kind of mother above preachers because his mother trained him. Your probably all that stands between him and family, and your church. We are all counting on you! Satan knows we don't express our love to you as we should - he will try to use that to discourage you. 1. One day out of the year is hardly what you deserve!
2. We should treat our mothers this good every day! 3. Call, write... if local, take out at least once per week! Satan knows he could do a whole lot more destruction if you were out of the way. Look at all of the broken homes. Satan knows you will never give up on your kids because you get from God! Pastor Cameron Payne Lighthouse Baptist Church www.lbcbrantford.org
