1st Cor. 10:31 Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God Check out our website, www.zihuachristian.org as it has been renewed into a new and better format thanks to Roger Cornell and his magic touch in computer manipulations. Thank you, Roger. Dec. plans We are going to share the shoebox ministry. We ordered 300 boxes for our children in the Children s home and our children programs to give to other poor children in the communities where they live. It will bless our kids to bless others and it is all to share Jesus love. Besides that we are planning again this year our Angel Tree like project where we buy gifts for inmate children in the inmates name and deliver them along with sharing the love of Jesus.
Newsletter for November 2014 This is Pastor John writing. If we were to talk about all that took place in November we would need to write a book. That is the truth and I know many would not read this letter if it would note 30 to 40 pages. God willing we will let our photos do most of the talking. Our plans for the holiday season is to have four major happenings in our ministry. First was to have a thanksgiving festival for our three church plants that we did Sunday Nov. 30 th. We provided most of the transportation to a beach restaurant 5 miles from Zihua. God blessed the food and everyone had enough, a miracle. We Gringos served our Mexican brothers and we held a short church service with the three Mexican pastors sharing a short message each, a baptism took place and all this with live music led by Pastora Veronica of El Hujal Christian Fellowship. Then we shared a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.
And another miracle took place for John L. Sullivan Ministries. We planned the food for 70 people hoping close to that many would come. But, over 115 people showed up from our three Mexican church plants and our English speaking church who served. We gringos were not planning on eating because we were sure there would not be enough food. Guess what, I was the last to eat and I stuffed myself. Others came back for more. Is not God good. This thanksgiving dinner took place after our English speaking church service in the morning and a especial birthday ceremony at Cristian s church for a 15 year old Christian young lady who grew up under Beti s direction. Cristian did a wonderful job of sharing the word and blessing this young lady and her family. This is a Mexican tradition for young girls who come of age. Many never get to experience this because of financial reasons. Our young girls will be able to, God willing.
Then to the beach with a lot of drivers helping. Whew! I was tired, stressed and anxious and was told to pray. I did and all went well Thank you Jesus. How did the month of November begin? It started where Oct. left off, busy serving the people God placed in our care. Then we prepared for a team of 12 coming from Ohio, and from a Methodist church. We did not know what to expect. All I knew is a couple we know from Troncones, a community about 25 minutes north of Zihuatanejo, was going to house them and that they were coming to serve alongside of us in our mission field. How were we going to take care of 12 people? And how would they fit into our Charismatic religious fever. Well, this was one
Spirit filled group of Methodists who will be welcome any time in our mission field. Let s take a look at what took place. They arrived and took our 15 passenger van, Big White, to this family they were staying with. First we had a meal together, prayed and sent them on their way to meet us the next day close to where Cristian lives, that is close to the garbage dump in Ixtapa. There the next morning we visited the school and the surrounding families who live in this garbage dump. Most of the team left with tears as so many have in the past after seeing how these people live. You know something, tears in the eyes of people for people tells me something about their hearts. A good feeling came over me concerning this group from Ohio. From there we visited the Children s home. They were active intercessors in how they showed their love for our kids. The same attitude they shared
with our three children programs we have around Zihuatanejo. The same love they showed as we visited the two senior centers we work with and the time we took both to the beach for a dinner away from their monotonous life. Something different. We shared Jesus and this group served the seniors. Then my wife sang children songs for them and had these older handicapped people sing along as we passed our portable microphones to them. It was heart breaking and joyful thanks to Jesus. The next night we took these Oh I O people back to the garbage dump where we had advertised a movie, hotdogs and ice-cream the day before. And that is what we did We showed the movie God is not Dead, and these people from Ohio, others from Canada, some from the United States and Mexico served these people while the movie was showing. They cooked hotdogs over a fire and served them ice-cream. Who would have believed ice cream would have come to the garbage dump where there is no electricity or running water or refrigeration. We did and this God loving team from Ohio served these people gladly and the movie moved the hearts of
the young and old. We brought in 80 chairs, our church sound equipment, a projector, a generator and large screen. We brought a theater to the dump for Jesus. \
The top of the night was when we called for a healing ministry and an alter call. There was no response at first as these people never experienced anything like this. Then one girl came forward and then after a few minutes many lined up to receive God s blessings for the next 40 minutes Thank you Living Water Prayer Team for your faithful praying over me when I told you I was afraid to call this event at the garbage dump. I did, thanks to you and people responded and are still rebounding from our Lord Jesus Christ visiting them in the dump.
There are so many people who come to faithfully help us. Here are three ladies that I want to bring to your attention in their willing to serve others. Jesus said, Whatever you do to others, you do unto Me. They served our Lord Jesus every day in Zihuatanjeo. Terry Lynn, Cindy and Elsa, Cristian s wife Thank you my sisters for your heart for my people. There are so many who come to help and I don t share their names and I cannot with everyone, but listen, God knows who you are and He is smiling at you What next? I don t remember Yes I do now, we have church services with our 4 churches; Friday evening with Cristian s church in Las Mesas, Saturday evening with Veronica s church in El Hujal, Sunday morning with Zihuatanejo Christian
Fellowship and Sunday night with Eduardo s church that includes the Children s Home kids at Vista Mar. We shared in all these churches On Saturday we split the teams up as some went to Beti s new children s program at Playa Linda, some went to the Orphanage to help with some maintenance issues and you can t go there without playing with the kids and a few of us went to a church in Petatlan to help out a Baptist pastor there. And in the afternoon we had our children s program in another area above Zihua. It was a long weekend like it is for us every weekend Weekends are not our Sabbaths
After church Sunday morning I was talking with Pastor Max and he mentioned the one young man named Nicolas who came with the group would like to be baptized. He asked me if that could be possible. It became possible in 30 minutes in the bay of Zihuatanejo. And let me tell you this young man was for real. He was saved and wanted this to be a testimony. It was and it blessed me to be a part of it. The team left and we miss them, like we miss so many people who come here to serve as missionaries, to help us reach more people for Jesus. And we invite you who are reading this newsletter. God bless, Pastor John Continue below.
