Myth #1 God Would Never Allow this to Happen to America!

In 722 BC, the Assyrians attacked again, destroying Israel and either killing or scattering the people. America too was attacked

Israel America The Assyrians were terrorists and very cruel. They spoke Akkadian, an extinct language. There is one language today closest to Akkadian: Arabic. And the physical descendants of the Assyrians live in the same part of the world: Iraq.

but we will rebuild with dressed stone. Dressed or hewn stone is stone cut out of solid rock. It is much stronger than bricks. This is the block of dressed stone which was installed on July 4 th, 2004, as the foundation of Freedom Tower, the replacement for the Twin Towers.

The sycamores have been felled It s hard to find a tree in downtown NYC, but across the street from the Twin Towers is St. Paul s Chapel, which had a sycamore in its yard. That sycamore was killed on 9-11. Want to guess what kind of tree replaced it?

Senator Tom Daschle quoted Isaiah 9:10 the day after the 9-11 attack. An American senator, probably not realizing this verse is a curse, pronounced this curse over the United States. Sen. Daschle was soon out of office.

Senator John Edwards pronounced the curse over the United States on the third anniversary of 9-11. Sen. Edwards was soon out of office.

In fact, this building, Founder s Hall, was one of the buildings damaged on 9-11. In his inaugural address, Washington said that if America obeyed God, it would receive God s blessings. Israel America Israel responded with defiance to the Assyrian attack. This angered God, who wanted repentance, and God sent the Assyrians back to finish the job. America turned to God for the first few months after 9-11, but not as much since then.

Israel America God was looking for repentance, not defiance. When Israel continued to sin, God sent Assyria back to destroy Israel completely. This harbinger can be either good or bad. Good if America repents, bad if America continues to turn away from God. The parallels to Israel are striking. What will happen next? In 2013, 12 years after 9-11, America overturned the Defense of Marriage Act and centuries of taboo by making homosexual marriage legal. The Muslim countries in the Mideast are in chaos, but the American government pressures Israel, the pupil of God s eye, America s only ally in the Mideast, and the only calm, democratic country in the region, to give up Land. Is America moving toward or away from God? God has sent a warning to America. Who is listening?

Libya, Egypt, Sudan, Somalia, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Iran have all been in the news recently because they are at war, Muslim fighting Muslim or threatening to destroy Israel and the United States. Ethnic cleansing and terror groups are active in some of the other green countries. Israel is surrounded by those who wish to destroy it. America tells Israel to go back to the pre-1967 borders, which are indefensible.

The Isaiah 9.10 Judgment is sometimes referred to as the Harbinger. har bin ger noun \ˈhär-bən-jər\ 1 archaic: a person sent ahead to provide lodgings 2 a: one that pioneers in or initiates a major change : precursor b: one that presages or foreshadows what is to come A harbinger can be a good thing. A bluebird is sometimes called a harbinger of Spring. Americans could have responded to 9-11 with more than a few months worth of repentance. America could have turned all the way back to God. That doesn t seem to be happening. So it seems that, following the parallel of Isaiah 9.10, 9-11 has become a harbinger of more suffering.

Perhaps you have heard it said, God never causes stealing, killing, or destruction. This is sometimes based on John 10.9-10, that satan, the thief, does only those things, therefore God can t. This is a non-sequitur (Latin: It does not follow ), a violation of logic. Just because satan does those things, it does not folow that God can t. Because of the arrogance of the response to the attack in Isaiah 9.10, God promises in Isaiah 9.11 that the attacks will continue. In Isaiah chapter 10, God assures us that, although it was the Assyrians who did the damage to Israel, Assyria was acting under God s direction. Do not think America can escape judgment just because someone says, My God is a God of love. The God of the Bible is the important one!
