1-6 Grade Program June 18- June 22 9am - 3pm Jr and Sr High Program June 18- June 21 7:30pm-9:45pm What is Totus Tuus? Totus Tuus is a Catholic youth program dedicated to sharing the Gospel and promoting the Catholic faith through catechesis, evangelization, Christian witness, and Eucharistic worship. The goal of Totus Tuus is to help young people grow in the understanding of, and strengthen their faith in, Jesus Christ. It is only by establishing a real and personal relationship with Him that we can be led to the love of the Father in the Spirit and so be made sharers in the life of the Holy Trinity. What does Totus Tuus mean? Totus Tuus was Saint Pope John Paul II's apostolic motto. It is a Latin phrase meaning "totally thine" and expressed his personal Consecration to Mary based on the spiritual approach of Saint Louis de Montfort and the Mariology in his works. Who teaches the program? A team of college age students (2 boys, 2 girls) are prepared to engage and help the students learn about the faith. Will there be any adults present with the Totus Tuus team and students? Yes, the youth director and numerous volunteers will be on site assisting with the students. Where will the program take place? The program will take place in CK School. Parents are asked to walk their children into the building. What makes this program special? The program's target is to fully engage students while helping them grow in knowledge and love for their faith. Totus Tuus uses the four pillars of the Catechism of the Catholic Church as the foundation of their Curriculum. It also highlights the importance of the Eucharist and the use of the sacraments. Learning about the Rosary is also a key element of the program that helps the students learn about Jesus' life and the importance of prayer. How are the elementary students kept engaged? The Totus Tuus team teaches them songs, performs skits and plays games with the students. Also, the students are rewarded for their good behavior on Friday with a water balloon toss and water fight. It is also a Totus Tuus tradition to have a human sundae. The students are asked to bring sundae toppings to pour on top of one Totus Tuus Team members on Friday. How can we register for the program? Registrations can be submitted by going to the Church website at www.ckokc.org and clicking on Parish Life then Youth and finally Totus Tuus. The cost is $35. Who do we contact if we have any further questions?
