Joyce Meyer: Because I was sexually abused as a child by my father, I grew up and became an adult who was really negative. Even after I had a strong relationship with God, I still struggled with this for a while. Then one morning, I was standing in the bathroom and I remember noticing this evil presence around me. It wasn t new...i realized I had always felt it. It made me think, What bad thing is going to happen next?

Things fail you Ever ordered food and expected the taste to be as good as the advertisement? Ever been disappointed when someone wasn t what you expected them to be? Have you stayed in a hotel and things weren t quite as clean as you expected? Ever have to wait in line longer than expected? Ever had to track a package from across the states or the world and not get it in the time you expected? Ever had a church/pastor/or Christian let you down by not living up to YOUR expectation?
You failed Did you meet others expectations? Are you living up to what your parents wanted for you? Are you at the financial status that you expected at this age? Did you get what you expected from your 20 s, 30 s, 40 s, etc?
Over-compensate where we have failed expectations: Alcohol/addiction drown out or numb our sorrows don t remind me Adultery well you know after a few years with her she wasn t what I expected so I had to try something else Anger/sarcasm I m gonna make you feel as stupid as I still feel about myself Anti-depressants.taboo.IT S JUST TOO MUCH FOR ME TO DEAL WITH! Spoiling kids.give them freedom and spoils because we regret not living up to our own childhood expectations
Things that don t fail... Are you expecting that healing will take place in you? Are you expecting to be filled with the Holy Spirit? Are you expecting the Lord to LOVE you through your filth? Are you expecting to be given life when you are summoned to death? Are you expecting salvation for you or for others that are lost? Are you expecting your worth to come from God? Are you expecting provision that will last? Are you expecting true joy that things can t satisfy?
