Volume 34 February 2014 Number 02 A Word from Preacher Bennie 2014 is full speed ahead! 1 month down and 11 to go. January was a great month at MFBC. Our ministry fair was a huge success. Thanks to all who signed up to serve this year. All Ministry teams will be meeting soon to elect chair people and get busy serving the Lord. If you missed the fair, you can still sign up! There are forms at the info desk for you to sign up for the ministries that God is calling you to serve in this year. You can turn them in to a staff member or drop them in the offering plate. If everyone gets involved, we can accomplish the tasks God has for us to do! I know that things are tough financially for many of you. It seems that the economy is just not getting back to where it was. We finished 2013 under budget, which is unusual for us. We have a challenging budget for this year too. If we all do our part, I still think we can meet our budget. If everyone will commit to tithing this year, we will be fine. Remember, the tithe is 10% of what you make. God is faithful to take care of those who obey Him in the tithe. Many testimonies in the church exist of how the tithe money is never missed and God provides for the rest of their needs. If you do not tithe, I challenge you to try it! In Malachi 3:10, God says to test Him! He will provide for you even in the hard times if you are faithful to Him and give from a cheerful and grateful heart! Our Nicaragua Mission team leaves February 8 for a week of serving the Lord with Chosen Children Ministries there. Pray for us as we go. There is such a great need there physically and spiritually. Thanks to all who have donated to help us go. Thanks to all who have prayed and will pray while we are there. We have 17 from our church and 4 more from other churches going on this trip. Our team members are Bennie & Retta Durham, Roger & Lonita Stegall, Chandler & Jennifer Holmes, Phil & Sharon Edge, Ron, Brett and Butch Darnell, Ryan Howard, Kevin Hart, Jimmy Batson, Virgil Bonham, Shannon Duncan and Shannon Rutland. Also going with us is Bill & Ella Keown and Robbie & Linda Fleming. If you would like to donate money to help with projects there, please let me know ASAP. Our 2 Will Do mission fund will be used for a new church start building. Thanks to all who donate to that fund! We are low on money in that fund because we have done so many projects here in our community. It has been a blessing to help different ministries and churches here at home and now to be able to help in a foreign country.

FAST meeting and training session: February 19 following service February is American heart month and a good time to think about taking a CPR/AED class at our church. Each year in the US 715,000 people have a heart attack and each year 600,000 people die from heart disease. We have trainers in CPR and AED that would love to do a class for your small group. We plan to also offer training at large for the church very near in the future. Watch for these dates and sign up and take advantage of something that might one day save someone's life. Thanks Jimmy Batson Please continue to pray for our Spanish language SS class! It has now started and the folks very excited to get further Bible study in their heart language. We still can use any Spanish speakers to help out in many different ways. Please let Kevin or Jimmy know if you can help in this area. Spanish classes have started at our TRBA office but it is not too late to join in for this semester. The class meets each Monday for 10 weeks and the costs just cover the materials. Call the TRBA office at 834-9635 for more info or just see Jimmy to register. His Servant, Jimmy Batson Our study of "Search for Significance" has started and it is a great study on dealing with lots of issues. We meet each Tuesday from 630-8pm in the church conference room. If you or someone you know is struggling with life issues please invite them to join us. Thanks Jimmy Batson Game Day in the Parlor A time of Food, Fun and Fellowship. You do not have to play the games. You can come and just enjoy a wonderful time of fellowship. Tuesday, February 18 @ 9:30 am Email kevin@mfbc-sc.org or phone: 420-8894 for info. The Christian Education of MFBC is here to support the Body of Christ as we seek to follow God s PLANS (Jer. 29:11). We have started two new Sunday school classes in January; a Coed Adult Hispanic Sunday school class (With this class I am in need of a teacher or coteacher who can speak spanish). We meet Sunday mornings at 10:15 upstairs in Room 207 A. The second class is called S.A.L.T. Sunday school which is a senior adult coed class. The class meets Sunday morning at 10:15 downstairs in Room 112. Please contact Kevin Hart (kevin@mfbc-sc.org or cell ph. 420-8894).
