This church is a thoroughly evangelical church in the historic sense of that word and our basic purposes are to bring people to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, to build them in the Christian faith and life, and to enlarge missionary participation to the extent that all may come to hear of and believe in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior. Friend and stranger, to such a church as this you are welcome. News of the Week ASK US/TELL US/GIVE US GOOD NEWS September 2, 2018 CONDOLENCES We are sad to announce the death of Evelyn Pollock s husband, Roger who died August 29, 2018 at Masonic Village. Evelyn lives at Masonic Village and she and Roger are members at Olivet Presbyterian Church. Evelyn has been worshiping with us since they moved here. The funeral and arrangements will be taking place at Olivet Presbyterian Church. Evelyn s address is 390 Freemason Drive, Elizabethtown PA 17022. SEPTEMBER 9 th WELCOME CHILDREN Starting September 9th you will see some changes. Parents will be invited to bring their children forward for a children s sermon each Sunday. Parents have the option of doing what works for them and their family. Have your children sit with you from the beginning of the service until they come to the front for the children s sermon. Or, take them to the nursery before the service begins and go and get them from the nursery in time for the children s sermon. After the children s sermon, parents have the option of taking their children back to the nursery or keeping them with them for the rest of the service. This is a special and exciting change as we have not had a children s sermon for awhile. Please join us up front for a special message! September 9th is special because we will have a Blessing of the Backpacks. Bring your school bag or other item used for school. We will have a special blessing for the beginning of the school year and our learning and growing. -Pastor Sarah SAFETY REMINDER There is a box beside the cardboard container in Fellowship Hall marked Glass. There is also a box in the kitchen. Any broken glass or glass not able to be recycled, that is being thrown out should be put in the box and not in garbage bags. Glass to be recycled should be put under the sink in the green can. There have been some injuries from broken glass in bags so this should be a way to forestall any more.
