Reflections: Welcome Faith Formation has had a busy start to the New Year. Confirmation candidates spent the Christmas break filling out their paperwork for Confirmation. They each wrote a letter to Father Tomasz telling him why they want to be confirmed and what type of Christian man or woman they hope to be. Saints have been researched and names chosen for their Confirmation name. Second graders had their Reconciliation retreat where they rotated through various stations. The two most popular stations were one practicing confession with Father Tomasz and the stuffing of their lambs. Practicing confession in the church with Father Tomasz eased many fears so the ceremony was not full of anxiety. The lambs that were stuffed were placed around Jesus the Shepard on the altar. Following the ceremony the newly cleansed kids processed out of church and all released balloons to symbolize how they have released their sins to God. There were so many amazing people who helped make this retreat successful. They include Lisa Paulhus, Dickens PierreLouis, Jenna Stanley, Stacey Lomonaco, Susan Graceffa, Jeannene Austin, Hannah Lomonaco, Brian Wildman, Emma Holtz, Casey Paulhus, Emma Paulhus, Belle Croteau, and Grace Robinson, Deacon Chris and Father Tomasz. Young Neighbors in Action is kicking up to high gear with their retreat this weekend. And as Lent approaches we are deep in the planning for Fish and Chips. Don t forget starting Ash Wednesday February 14 th to come get your St. Patrick s 1 st Fish and Chips of the Lenten Season. Nothing says I love you on Valentine s Day than sharing it with your parish community over delicious Fish and Chips. This year we welcome Jim Gagner from Peg s Diner as our new chef! On Tuesday, February 13 th, I will be here wearing my Geriatric Pharmacist hat. I am joining two of my worlds as Pharmacy Outreach from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy comes to discuss Medication Safety. If you have any medication questions bring those and/or your list or bottles of medications. My friend Janelle Herron Pharm D will be joining me and we look forward to answering your questions. Mark on your calendars our Lenten Mission Hit Pause, Find God with Megan Fox Kelly and Marty Kelly. This is a dynamic couple who are Campus Ministers at Holy Cross. They have three young boys and know how crazy family life is. They will be talking February 26, 27, and 28 about finding God in the craziness of our day. Ask the Pharmacist On Tuesday, February 13 th, Aileen Lemoine RPh, BCGP and Janelle Herren, PharmD, RPh from MCPHS University Pharmacy Outreach Program will be giving a presentation on medication safety. The Ask the Pharmacist program will begin at 9:15am in the Parish Center. Following the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and meet one on one with the pharmacists for their own medication review. This program is funded by the Central Massachusetts Agency on Aging and the Executive Office of Elder Affairs. All services of the Pharmacy Outreach Program, are free of charge to Massachusetts residents. If you wish to participate in a medication review, please bring either your medication list or bottles. To speak to a pharmacist about your medications, find out why you take your medications or if you can save money on your medications, call Pharmacy Outreach at 8666331617. Winter Flu Season In light of the flu epidemic we will suspend distribution of the cup. Those people assigned as Eucharistic Ministers please check in before Mass. Also, during the Sign of Peace if you do not want to shake hands just wish others a verbal Peace be with you.
