From the Desk of Father Reed C. Mungovan Dear Friends in Christ, This Sunday s readings remind us that God is our Sheppard: God is protecting us and leading us to fullness of life. My spiritual director recently invited me to see God as the caregiver of my soul. What a beautiful image for us: to see God as the divine caregiver of our souls. What a nurturing way to see our God who cares for us. Jesus in this Sunday s Gospel is inviting us to rest in Him, to go away to a deserted place once in a while and to rest in God. I recently returned from a retreat. I was able to get away to a deserted place and refocus on God. I want to invite all of you to consider taking a yearly retreat. If you need some suggestions, I have them. Another idea is to reserve one day or part of a day each month and/or week to get away and refocus on God. God is so wonderful to us, how wonderful to focus our lives on God. Holy Mary, Mother of Good Counsel, pray for us. Fr. Padre Reed Christopher Mungovan, SDS CATHOLIC DOCTORS NEEDED Mission Doctors Association will offer the 2018 Fall Retreat/Seminar, Sept. 28-30, 2018 for Catholic Doctors, Dentists, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants considering Short-term mission service. SWING FOR YOUR SEMINARIANS! Pallium Scholarship Benefit Monday, July 30 You are invited to support the formation of future priests by attending Saint Francis de Sales Seminary s Pallium Scholarship Benefit on Monday, July 30 at the Wisconsin Country Club. Golf away the afternoon or join seminary supporters later for the cocktail reception and dinner. Given the $50,000 annual cost to form just one priest, answering the call to the priesthood can be financially challenging. Your support of the Pallium Scholarship Benefit will ensure that nothing stands in the way of a faithfilled man who has been called to the priesthood. For more details or to register online, go to www.sfs.edu/golf or call (414)747-6463.
