Please send donations to the ES Office Next Tuesday, November 1, is the Solemnity of All Saints. On this day, the Catholic Church honors all saints holy men and women that are recognized in a special way for the good they did in their lives. These heroes of our faith persevered in troubled times as they followed the path of Jesus, and their unselfish actions, as well as their talents, skills and virtuous living serve as an inspiration for others. Saint Teresa of Calcutta s words are a reminder that God calls each one of us to be saints: Do ordinary things with extraordinary love. Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless. If you judge people, you have no time to love them. Peace begins with a smile. Saint John the Baptist Elementary will celebrate Mass at 9:00am with Saint John the Baptist Middle School. All are welcome to join us! The students received an olive wood cross today from the Holy Land. Monsignor Moore and Deacon Graham from Saint John the Baptist Parish led a pilgrimage to the Holy Land earlier this month. During the trip, a couple from the parish asked Deacon Dale what he would like to bring back for the students at Saint John the Baptist Elementary. After much prayer and while in Bethlehem, Deacon Dale found the cross that your child received today. Thank you to the couple for their generosity in remembering the students, and thank you to Deacon Dale for his pastoral leadership. We are truly blessed! Red Ribbon Week has been a success at Saint John the Baptist Elementary! Leo the Lion from REAL Salt Lake visited the school today along with the JDCHS Girls Soccer team, who won state last Saturday, and the cheerleaders. It was a fun assembly, as the students displayed their school spirit! The school will be collecting change and gifts for The Celebration Project through this Friday, October 28. Red Ribbon Week will conclude with the Glow Stick Rosary on Friday, October 28. The Rosary will begin at 9:00am in the JDCHS Auditorium. If you are planning to attend, please be on time, as the doors will be locked once the Rosary begins. Next Monday, October 31, is All Hallows Eve Halloween! It is Black & Orange Dress Day for all students, PreKindergarten 5 th Grade. Costumes, colored hair, masks and/or wigs are not allowed. In Christ, Nikki Ward, Principal

A Message from SJB Catholic Schools Advancement Director Dear SJB Parents and Guardians, We are updating our Grandparent Mailing List and need your help! Please take a few moments in the next day or two, to complete this form (Click HERE). We would like to have all responses by this Sunday, October 23rd. We strive to include grandparents in our SJB Community whenever possible. In November we will mail out a Save the Date for the upcoming Parent/Grandparent Day, held during Catholic Schools' Week on January 31, 2017. In addition, we send periodic communications via The Voice magazine and our fundraising appeal, in an effort to share the great strides our schools are making with extended SJB family. The feedback we receive from grandparents is always one of gratitude. Please note: We are only able to send mail domestically. If your grandparents are located internationally and you would like to forward information to them, please contact the Advancement Office and we are happy to supply copies of information for your to mail. If you prefer that we refrain from contacting the grandparents in your family, we sincerely respect your wishes and you do not need to complete the form. Thank you for your prompt response! Sincerely, Nevah Stevenson Director of Advancement Saint John the Baptist Catholic Schools Tel. 801.984.7678 nevahstevenson@skaggscatholiccenter.org
